[SPOILERS] Team Unpronounceable Unicode Symbol: True Grit

HIBME score going higher than suttree, I would like to get an eye on their lands right now. Actually no score increase on suttree standing steady on 336. I'm getting a +12 increase that means less if I get bottled in by Blue and Yellow. I'm more dedicated to calling my opponents by their team color instead of their insane naming scheme that actually changes every now and then. Possibly a tactic to confuse their opponents? (Hmm..)

I am now considering Currency-Aesthetics-Literature and going for TGL as well as National Epic.

Yellow settler turned to the Swamp People settlement.
Blue city discovered by the name of Cades Cove. Some heavy deforesting going on there.
White esp. still going strong with +3 every turn. Currently at 36/32 (I have +4 there). All other esp. at a standstill.

Does the buddhist missionary count for +12 points in the score?

hah, buddhist missionaries dont count for score. if you get an unexpected score boost it was probably land points which register after a twenty turn delay.

I don't think lit/Library makes a ton of sense for you in your currently squeezed position... but it would be fun :-)

on the other hand, I love the color scheme. much easier to follow. assuming you keep posting pics that is.

Pics will follow on the update later today.

Yeah, it may be fun until they shove a band of macemen/xbowmen down my throat. It is a promising build if I can make it though. Just need to defend/settle/grow.

Ah, twenty turn delay on land points I was unaware of. 1 point learned today. Thank you.

This may be picture heavy. Will try to make some comments on it as well.

First up, a trade proposal by Mr.Orange from turn 104. He originally proposed my giving him Ivory for Rice, which I removed. Happy for Happy works for me and OB can come in handy unless his troops are closer to my lands.

What actually happened though, is that he turned this deal down, since my faithful dedicated lurker chariot was within range of his land, he did not want to give me an advantage in the view department it seems.

On the same turn that Mr.Orange negotiated for OB/happy (a porn flick take on OB/GYN? *snicker*) I had another offer for the same resource by Mr.Lightblue. Since I already was negotiating, this was turned down flat.

Then, Mr.White came on the scene with an offer of OB +3g pr turn from his side. Free gold and no units in sight made me say yes to this. My concern was at one point that missionaries could be a problem, but I reckon it is less of a problem since spies are disallowed. Let us see who gains the Apostilic Palace before we are all wiped out, hmm?

Now for the more serious conundrum.

According to the graphs -which I do not include in this post- my good, dear friend Mr.Blue is ahead in both soldiers and production. But 3 turns ago he fell to 4th or 5th place when it comes to food, where he used to lead. Which is a nightmare to me being his closest neighbour. This may very well be a buildup/prelude to war, with our peace agreement coming to a close in a few turns. The current scoreboard lead is what I believe Sisu called a 'false lead'. This may come to pass, but I will not go down without a fight.

A spear was done in DZ with Curl. Following what may be a suicide tendency, I have decided to go for a settler and protection for that settler. I aim to expand west/Southwest while I still have time. A dangerous prospect but neccessary. If I simply stand back and wait for things to grow in comfort, I might as well paint 'target' on my back.

But where to put my new city. That hill makes a defensive location with 2 negative desert tiles. May come in handy to place it there if it comes to a culture war, and if it comes down to a brawl those extra 25% of hill defense can come in handy.

My other consideration was to hook a placement to gain as many resources as possible.

Mr.Blue has advantages in city placement already, so my safest bet may be the iron resource due west of DZ with Curl. There is another resource south, very close to Mr.Blue territory. It could be prudent to make for that place, since it will create a buffer to the south, of sorts. Will think about this some more.

Is diplomacy really not allowed between nations other than trade/war/peace agreements? frown

Thanks. smile A good quote to be remembered by, and yes it should. How does one apply for that? Just send it in a relevant thread for consideration?
