I don't think Plako has the map ready yet, so we're not in a huge rush. That being said, it would be nice if people could be moving a little quicker.

I already experienced much much slower pick processes
Pitboss 14 - Team Care Bears - We'll expand love and happiness to the whole world by all means!
ISDG2 - Team UniversCiv - Captain & Foreign affairs

The game will be slow in a sense that it will likely take about a year - I hope you realize that? I understand people wanting to take their time, I will be also very busy until this weekend. Taking about a week to pick a leader and civ you are going to play for a next year does not seem so slow, if you look at this that way .
Of course, slow is also not an opposite of exciting - I mean, I hope at least it will not be in the case of our game.
Btw, we have never discussed the turn timer. I assumed that it will be 24h for later turns and since majority seems favoring putting "not to play 2 turns in a row" rule on hold, initial turn timer could be perhaps 12h?

as i thought, it was a misunderstanding. I was also asked if there is a way to automatically hide the SPOILERS threads we are not supposed to read to make it easier. I am new to this site, I have no idea. Anybody knows?

Any snake pick involving 10 teams will be a bit lengthy. I have set a list of my top civs/leaders, so when the pick went around to dick76 and me, it was a matter of just picking the civ off the top of my list and making sure dick76 was cool with it.

I would support a 24 hour turn timer the entire way, with holidays being the exception.

You can set bookmarks/subscriptions for certain threads, and then check them in the user CP (e.g. the "subscribed threads" tab).
For me, I can go into my control panel and there will be a list of all threads that I've created, so I can access my spoiler thread directly from "User CP".

I have a Firefox plugin called Greasemonkey that lets me block off threads I don't want to click on accidentally - I can still see the thread, I'm just prevented from opening it. Sounds like what you want, Maga.

Hello, players!
I need your approval to be a DedLurker for team DMOC & Dick76.
I've been spoiled so far. I've read most of the teams treads. I've read LurkerTread. I have some inside knowledge about map, your starting positions and plans (cant exactly remember details though), reaction of veteran players in LurkerTread to your plans.
I am promisse to keep this knowledge to myself, and put any word in D&D tread solely based on current situation, not on my spoiler knowledge.
Of course, if you agree with me as a DedLurker, I will stay away from your treads or LurkerTread (stopped reading your treads some time ago actually). My expirience in civ is limited, and I have zero expirience in MP.
I've ask this question in LurkerTread and 2 veterans said its ok if players ok with it.
If anyone of the players says 'NO', I'll stay a global lurker and wait for my first MP game to come.

What I'm more worried about is whether or not he has read our concession acceptance speech.

If it not falls under 1st Amendment, I'll take 5th.
