[SPOILERS] Margarita and the Lurkers

Mandatory pick analysis wink

Top combos:
Orgynized (LP/Arki/Magno) - Huayna Capac (FIN/IND) of Netherlands (fishing + agri) (East Indiamen/dike) - we wanted Netherlands, too frown. I kinda thought we have dibs on them, as Willem wink.
Dinosaurs (Whiteye & Raptorous) - Darius (FIN/ORG) of England (fishing + mining) (Red Coat/Stock Exchange) - England was our very close 2nd for civ picking. We considered it however rather risky, as both UB and UU come very late
Master and Margarita (us) - Willem (FIN/CRE) of Ottomans (agri+wheel) (Jannissary/Hamman) - overall happy with the pick, especially with getting Ottomans at 8th place!

Slightly weaker:
Blame Caledorn Isabella (EXP/SPI) of Inca (agri + mysticism) (Quechua/Terrace) - great combo, but one of the few non-FIN leaders
Eagles & Condors (Kurumi & HBHR) - Pacal II (FIN/EXP) of Native America (fishing+agri) (Dog Soldier/Totem Pole) - not fan of Native America, I guess it was for starting techs. But seems that they missed a great opportunity to pick Carthage - for synergy with cothons, and also starting with fishing (+mining, not bad either)
Care Bears - Victoria (FIN/IMP) of India (mysticism + mining) (Fast Worker/Jail)- very good except of India starting techs, could be a slow start

Weaker:
BowsAi - Mansa Musa (FIN/SPI) of Zulu (agri+hunting) (Impi/Ikhanda) - I guess Zulu for Ikhanda?
EggHeads (D&D) - Sury (CRE/EXP) of Byzantium (mysticism+wheel) (cataphract/hippodrome) - I guess for CRE synergy with hippodrome

Wild and furious wink
Gladiator's Glory (Barteq / Geo / Harami) - Ragnar (FIN/AGG) of Rome (fishing+mining) (Praetorian/forum) - well, Harami quitted because the game did not appear as violent as he wished. We hope his teammates are still overestimating how violent it will be early - and undersetimating the distances between capitols lol

Puzzling:
Cannibal Ponies (Classical_Hero / Halvgud) - Napoleon (ORG/CHA) of Sumeria (agri+wheel) (Vulture/ziggurat) - it was a bit strange that picked Sumeria on the first round, but Napoleon? When Lizzie, Vicky and Mehmed were still available? huh. Pairing Nappy with Sumeria also does not explain what they were thinking? crazyeye, BTW, their team name is also most puzzling wink.

Some demo hacking:

1. Orgynized (LP/Arki/Magno) - Huayna Capac (FIN/IND) of Netherlands (fishing + agri)
2. Dinosaurs (Whiteye & Raptorous) - Darius (FIN/ORG) of England (fishing + mining) - building workboat using 0/3/0 tile (PHF). Likely researching Bronze Working. Will be ready in 8t.
3. Master and Margarita (us) - Willem (FIN/CRE) of Ottomans (agri+wheel)
4. Blame Caledorn Isabella (EXP/SPI) of Inca (agri + mysticism) - impossible to tell, no screenies frown. Also working 0/3/0 tile. Most likely researching Animal husbandry. They do not have wet corn, like us? Turn not finished.
5. Eagles & Condors (Kurumi & HBHR) - Pacal II (FIN/EXP) of Native America (fishing+agri). Building workboat most likely (or expansive worker?), working 0/3/0 tile. Likely researching AH.
6. Care Bears (Yuufo) - Victoria (FIN/IMP) of India (mysticism + mining) - not SIP
7. BowsAi - Mansa Musa (FIN/SPI) of Zulu (agri+hunting) - impossible to tell, no screenies frown Actually, possible to tell: researching Animal Husbandry! They are the only ones that can research tech with 2-pre-requisites this early and as Slaze pointed out, this is the only way to get GNP of 20 (unless working unimproved seafood). Working 0/3/0 tile. They do not have wet corn, like us?. Turn not finished.
8. EggHeads (D&D) - Sury (CRE/EXP) of Byzantium (mysticism+wheel)
9. Gladiator's Glory (Barteq / Harami) - Ragnar (FIN/AGG) of Rome (fishing+mining) - Building workboat working 0/3/0 tile, researching agriculture. Turn not finished.
10. Cannibal Ponies (Classical_Hero / Halvgud) - Napoleon (ORG/CHA) of Sumeria (agri+wheel) - building worker using 3/0/1 tile (wet corn?). Teching fishing. Will be ready in 15 t.

Could use some help with that wink. Math is pretty simply, we know exactly what Cannibal ponies are doing, they settled first and never logged afterwards, he had demos with only them settled. We have also demos after 5th team settled and 6th. Between 5th team settling and 6th team settling the total MFG of the world crosses 20 - indicating that everybody but Cannibals are most likely working 0/3/0 plain hill forest tiles. That makes sense for civ building workboats or expansive workers - but what about Yossadorn and Bowsai? Are we the only lucky owners of wet corn? Plako indicated otherwise, changed our corn to wet to give us equal chances. Both of the teams with the suspicious tiles worked did not ended the turn yet - is this the simple explanation, that the PHF tile is just a placeholder? In that case, demohacking does not make much sense ... frown

Well you don't talk about land tiles, but I suppose that everybody has an coastal start with fish, some will have grass pigs and others wet corn for a 6 food tile. Btw where are the pictures? rant

I have problem with figuring land tiles - I guess it will be easier when we finally settle. So far rivals best land is either 7,000 or 8,000, so I thought that would correspond to 7 or 8 land tiles in a capitol (we will have 7), but averages do not match, at least for me. Perhaps you would be able to figure it out or lurkers will help.

Based on the last demo screenie after LP settled, looks like they research Animal Husbandry.

Cannot figure out how the average for land tiles and soldiers works. We have ten teams, shouldn't the averages multiplied by 10, be integer number of 1,000? Some weird rounding going on?

It's rival average and as there is only 9 rivals the average should be multiplied by 9.

Good catch, LOL - and thanks!

OK, so the total rivals army is 16k (from starting techs only).

The total rivals land is 50 tiles (with 2 teams not settled yet).

Anybody can explain to me why we have already 5 wonders? (see below). I thought that at this point the only wonder is palace? Or wonders are for some reason count in multiplies of 5?

I guess they come in multiples of 5
