[SPOILERS] Yossarian blames Caledorn

I agree we don't want to settle east until praets are neutralized. Next city will go north of Server Problems, then a southern city to get the fish, then another northern city to get our tundra horses.

I haven't kept up with posting diplo with EggHeads, but we've been exchanging screenshots pretty freely.

Time for a diplo update.

First off, I just went ahead and sent that email to BowAivo reminding them about the NAP extension and semi-bitching that they didn't inform us about meeting Dinosaurs.

TeddyKGB replied to our email with the T74 picture dump with this email:

Quote:Hi,

Thank you for screenshots.

Here is our graphs from T75. We've got SutOxy's this turn.

And here is what we know about another land bridge between you, LP and us.

As I understand, Copper is 3N2W from your quechua on T74. LP's borders is NW, I'll provide another map if you wanna contact LP.

Regards,
TKGB

I replied this morning with this:

Quote:Hi EggHeads,

Thanks for the graphs. Here is T75 power and current GG units in the south.

And then we got these two messages from Teddy earlier today:

Quote:Thank you. Map north of ice furs and LPs closest city.

Quote:T75 units between us and rome.

I've also been chatting with Teddy. Some highlights:
  • We talked about the general desirability of a long-term alliance between our teams.
  • Orgy does not know we're south of them and EggHeads will not inform them unless we ask them to.
  • They are settling two more cities in the next five turns and one will be planted above the silver (where I indicated on my earlier dotmap)
  • Care Bears have silver in the second ring of their third city and furs in the third ring of their holy city. They have a very good core overall.
  • Care Bears and Dinosaurs recently made contact. Care Bears confirmed that Dinos are east of GG.
  • EggHeads are playing after GG in case it comes to war. I said I would do the same in case we want to coordinate an offensive.
  • GG did not replay T74 exactly the same after the reload. He said "GG otoh seems to me like just scout with chariot and pull it of danger after reload with different moves"
  • They are supposedly going to give us OB (finally, after asking for / suggesting it several times), although they don't need anymore foreign trade routes.

Here's an overview with pretty much all our possible cities, and the rough order I'm thinking we can settle them.

1-5 are already settled, with the borders drawn in. We'll settle #6 on T77, #7 on T83, and #8 on T85. We can probably get city #9 on T89. What do you guys think?

New message from EggHeads:

Quote:Hi,

We planted city#6 as planned 9 of silver. You could see its borders.

We establish TR with Rome with that city.
Here is interesting screenshot.

[I'll edit in the picture later]

Yep, no Iron and no Copper.

Thanks for offering your help with quechua. I did ask DMOC in the thread about it.
It's a big favour to ask, I know.
Let me think about it a bit, and talk with u in chat later today.

-TeddyKGB

So that's good to know! Plus, now they can tell us exactly when / if GG does hook up Iron. I moved a couple more units onto hills close to their southern borders, and there are no iron tiles in all the new GG land that was revealed. smile

To explain what he's talking about regarding the Quechua, we chatted a bit yesterday about the Silver city that they are settling. If GG decides to go all in against them, then that city is going to be overwhelmed. They asked if we have any units in the area, and the only one close by is the Quechua that is heading over to Care Bears. I told him that if they needed it for defense against GG, we could probably spare it. I'm trying to establish something of a defensive pact with them to shield us from any praet aggression. At any rate, we chatted again this morning before I played turn 76 and we're going to continue exploring with our Quechua, so it won't be much help to them at all.

And then we got a message from BowAivo:

Quote:Hi,

Sorry abotu the delay again. NAP until turn 140 sounds great. Espionage spending agreement sounds good to us as well. Do you already have speifics figured out?

BTW, we have not met Dinosaurs yet. Only you and the ponies.

- Aivo & Bow

Whoops, I shouldn't have said anything to them about Dinosaurs. Raptorous' message in the tech thread really sounded like they were affected by BowAivo replaying the turn differently. Oh well. As for espionage spending, we have each other's graphs, so we just need to stop spending against each other. I actually did take EP spending off of them on T74, but then forgot to replicate it on the reload. So I went and took spending off of them again on T75, and put it on the Ponies, who are spending 2 EP's / turn against us.

I'd be surprised if GG went north with the praets, so that Quetcha offer is great diplo!

Turn 75

I already covered a lot of this turn in the diplo above (sorry guys, I did feel a little guilty sending it to EggHeads before posting pictures of the turn here).

First, I was greeted with this when I logged in:

Feedback welcome. Also, we need a name for city 6!!

Question about double-move etiquette.

As you can see in the scouting picture above, GG had several uncovered workers, including one outside of their borders right next to our quechua. I've been trying to play after GG to keep a time split in case we go to war. However, I had to play t77 this morning before GG, or I wouldn't have had another chance before the timer ran out.

So, do I have the option to DOW GG next turn? If so, would I be forced into one half of the timer or the other? Having played before them this turn, there is no way I can double move them.

On the other hand, if GG double moves us, am I allowed to cry foul? For example, finishing an improvement this turn, then moving the worker away from our quechua next turn. This wouldn't have been a double move if I had stayed in the second half of the timer this turn (77).

I'm not actually planning on DOWing, btw, but I do want to know what our options are. Those workers look rather tasty smile

Cripes, if you're thinking of doing it I'd pm plako to ask. I'd assume you'd be okay to attack, but I dunno about them double-moving you, since you sort-of did it to them... Is that sufficiently vague and unhelpful?
