[SPOILERS] Yossarian blames Caledorn

Well, unless GG stacks all three workers right next to our quechua and leaves them unprotected, I don't really have any intention of DOWing. Likewise, I'm definitely not going to complain if GG ends up moving before us next turn, and when I log in all their workers are gone. I was more just curious what is considered kosher. In my own personal opinion, I don't think that maintaining a pre- or intra-war turn split is necessary, but it seems pretty common to self-impose this type of restriction and I don't want to be the cause of any reloads bang

FYI I'll be out of town Saturday-Tuesday so Caledorn will be playing the turns. I'll try to get the micro spreadsheet updated, but it'll definitely involve a fair amount of just winging it. Help from our dedlurkers is always appreciated, but especially this weekend! smile

I ended up going west with the axe to protect our copper mine. There are no improvements to pillage in the east, and the quechua gets 10% C1 + 25% fortification + 25% hill +25% city defense + 20% culture bonus for a total of 105% bonus against the barb. We should be safe there.

Some diplo with EggHeads from earlier today.

Blame Caledorn to EggHeads Wrote:Hello,

Here are the pictures of the Roman south from T76 and T77. Let us know if there is anything else you need.

EggHeads to Blame Caledorn Wrote:Hi,

Thank you for screenshots.

Could you send us another another one with tiles your quechua explored between us and India?

Here is last turn power graphs. Nothing out of ordinary here.

All the best,

Blame Caledorn to EggHeads Wrote:Here are some screenshots from T78. I can get a better one of the land around India next turn.

[sent them screenshots of the land outside Care Bears, the land south of GG, and our power graph, all edited to redact the mini map and our research]

And a short chat between emails:

Quote:TeddyKGB
hi, any news?
i'm still interested in that screenshot about Romes south workers
did u contact India? I suppose they will be glad for some diplo, not like south teams u met
in other news, LP connected Horses last turn. They had copper connected long ago
YossarianLives
Hey, sorry. I just sent the email with pictures from T76 and T77
I don't have the T78 picture with me, but basically they covered one of the workers with a chariot, and moved the rest out of view
I'll send that plus the T78 power graph this evening
We didn't meet Care Bears this turn. We're still one tile away, so we'll meet them next turn
TeddyKGB
ty
YossarianLives
I can send you a picture of that too, since I don't think you have unfogged that area
Thanks for the info about LP hooking up horses
TeddyKGB
yep, ty
YossarianLives
Good to know that they're not losing worker turns tongue
TeddyKGB
i dont think it mean anything about LPs horses
they want peace till t200 when they could crush us all, i suppose
YossarianLives
Haha, yep
We should establish a trade route connection when you road your silver
TeddyKGB
we did on t76
YossarianLives
Oh you did already?
Ok, we still need to road to a river that connects to that sea between us, so I guess it's on us now
Thanks!
Did India settle another city this turn?
TeddyKGB
np, its for u
we donate so much to other teams TR already
yep, they will settle more next few turns
YossarianLives
Wow that's crazy
Good for them I guess. They are going to be the runaways of this game
How long does your NAP with them go?
TeddyKGB
t100
YossarianLives
Oh, not that much longer, then
Do you plan on extending it? I wonder if we should just decline any NAP with India. They can't threaten us at all
TeddyKGB
we are discussing it right now
without rome we wont extend it most likely, but with GG ignore diplo its another picture
YossarianLives
Yeah, Rome acting as a wild card really throws things off
Did you get the pictures I sent?
TeddyKGB
5 min
TeddyKGB
yep, ty
YossarianLives
Ok, I have to run. I'll talk to you later
TeddyKGB
ok, need anything from us this turn?
any screenshots?

tldr
  • Orgy just connected horses
  • EggHeads NAP with Care Bears ends on T100
  • They have already roaded the silver, so we'll get trade routes with them, GG and Care Bears as soon as we road up to that river north of our capital
  • He's asking what screenshots we want from them. Any requests?

Can't think of any. All this diplo seems exhausting!

I've been enjoying the diplo so far. It's really only been intense with the EggHeads. BowAivo is getting about one email per week, and there basically isn't any diplo happening with GG or the Ponies right now.

But...

We just met Dinos and Care Bears!

Caledorn, do you think you can send off greeting messages to those teams? If not, I'll work on something to send them tonight. We also probably should get back to BowAivo and Ponies with something right about now.
Reply

Team Dinosaurs just sent us a short greeting:

Quote:Hi.

Team Dinosaurs greet you. Where ary from? Our small country is located east of Rome.

W.

Couple quick notes:

This must be whiteye conducting their diplo.
They don't know where we are even though we've known their location on the map basically since we meet EggHeads, and it was confirmed when they met Care Bears.
GG and Dinos have been spending lots of EPs against each other. This makes me hopeful that Dinos are GG's target for the praets. We can help them out... or let GG attack them, then take advantage of GG's undefended flank.

Scouting

We must be getting close to the team north of Ponies with our scout. According to the northern layout (EggHeads-carebear-MM-SutOxy-LP-EggHeads again), we should be meeting SutOxy up there. From there, we can turn west and look for Asterix, or east and look for Orgy. Right now, I'm thinking to turn towards Orgy. They're the other team directly north of us, coming from that direction should throw them off, and we can use the quechua who just found Care Bears to look for Asterix. The last picture shows where we met Care Bears. I like their city naming theme smile

You can see that GG has a settler in Neapolis. You can bet that guy's headed to their iron. I wonder if we should recruit the Dinosaur chariot to harass and hopefully delay the iron mine.

Our terrace in Reloads was delayed one turn because I forgot that the chop takes 4 turns in the damned tundra. The next settler will come out of Bad Econ when the chop finishes next turn. I'm wasting worker turns transferring our force down there to road the way and get ready to improve the new city. Right now I'm leaning NE of the pigs, but I'm also considering NW of the fish. We also have a city planned S of the horse, but I'm almost thinking to delay that one and go for one of our luxeries instead (snow furs or silver). If we go with the fish location, then we need to whip the workboat in Serdoa's Chariot next turn. I must say I was a little nervous not reinforcing Serdoa's Chariot, but we didn't lose any score when the turn flipped just a second ago, so it wasn't razed with a <1% loss to the barb.

Diplo time!

First, Care Bears sent us an email with the subject "Long live Claedorn, Yossarian and the Bears!"

Quote:Hi, great team Blame Caledorn. The Care Bears welcome your Quechua and wish you love and happiness!
The Care Bears

So I think we should send something short and sweet back:

Quote:Bonjour, mighty Care Bears! Thank you for the warm welcome. Our quechua Elayne is inspired by your copious and well-named cities. We hope for a long and prosperous relationship with your team.

Blame Caledorn

These guys are the runaways and they're going to have to be brought down before their lead gets too out of control. I don't think we really want too many deals with them, if any. Just a friendly but empty message is what I'm going for here.

To Dinosaurs:

Quote:Hi Team Dinosaurs,

We're very happy to meet you. Our humble country is located directly west of Rome. We think there are many opportunities for us to cooperate and help each other. Would you care to start with a NAP until Turn 135? Please let us know how else you would like to work together.

Blame Caledorn

I was pretty happy to see they got in touch with us so quickly. As the team on the other side of the mute Agg praets, we have every reason to work together. Looks like Dinos and GG have been spending a good deal of EP's against each other, giving me hope that maybe the Romans aren't going to target us after all. Let's see how we can really punish Rome if they do decide to go after the Dinosaurs.

To BowAivo:

Quote:Hi Aivo and Bowsling,

Cool, thanks for confirming our new NAP! We took our EP spending off you guys as soon as we got your graphs, so as long as we avoid spending anymore on each other, we can keep each other's graphs and focus on other teams.

Sorry about assuming about the Dinosaurs. Their post in the tech thread made me think they felt impacted by your moves after the reload. Coincidentally, we actually met the Dinosaurs this turn! Our quechua found their chariot southeast of the Roman borders. We also made contact with the Care Bears this turn. Contact really is coming in pairs for us.

We really like how well we've been able to work together. Let us know if you have any other ideas for cooperation.

Blame Caledorn

To EggHeads:

Quote:Hi,

We made contact with India and the English chariot this turn. GG has a settler in Neapolis. We're going to keep an eye on it and try to spot their iron.

And finally, to the Cannibal Ponies:

Quote:Hi Team My Little Marathon Cannibal Pony,

Thanks for agreeing to the NAP! We just met Team Dinosaurs east of us, and we see that you have OB with them, so there must be an East-West land wrap. Let us know if there's anything else you want to discuss. We'll be in touch.

Blame Caledorn

Whew, ok, that was exhausting! I'll send these in a few hours before I go to bed.
