Possible message to M & M:
Quote:Greetings Ottomans!
We are very happy to have found you. Suttree helped guide us to your mighty nation. You are the 8th team we have met. Team Orgynized is the last team we still need to meet. Our civ is located in the south between the Romans and Zululand. Would you be interested in a NAP until T125? If you would like to chat about the game at all, you can find me at vhinderl [at] gmail.
Take care,
YossarianLives
I can't really copy-paste from my phone, so if this looks good, could you go ahead and send it Caledorn? Thanks!
Edit: Whoops, nevermind! I should have checked our email first, but we have received a message from Asterix. I'll write a new message after breakfast

So, I did compose a bunch of emails, but I went ahead and sent them without posting them here. I'll post all the correspondence when I get back to a computer, unless Caledorn beats me to it.

Dinosaurs sent a new picture of the Roman iron city (Ravenna). It is completely undefended. They pulled both chariots out to defend their three workers, who are roading the iron tile.
I informed EggHeads about this. Teddy mentioned to me in chat that they might send a galley to try and raze the city. I hope they hurry, the iron mine should be finished in two turns.

Here's the picture I was referring to.
Edit: I actually just noticed they have three chariots there, not two. That does make things a bit tricky. Still, if dinos keep their chariot in place to force two Roman chariots to stay protecting the workers, and EggHeads send a couple spears in a galley, we could still be in business
Poor Romans, everyone is against them

Interesting, and somewhat worrying, message from SutOxy
Quote:Dear BlamoCalaYossarites,
I'm glad for the opportunity to correct my error in signing our last letter as the "Oxysuttocratic Empire". This is entirely incorrect. We are the "Oxysuttocratic Republic", a gathering of free cities committed to the pursuit of the spiritual path known as OxySuttori. OxySuttori, or "Enlightenment", is a three-fold path where all three branches basically involve drinking beer. Which is why I made the mistake.
With that out of the way, we are very glad to confirm our T100 NAP and OB. We will offer the latter in-game. We prefer you not move your units through our territory without permission (we of course will observe the same convention) but if you have good reason (would your scout like to double back and use our road to reach the Orgy to our east?) there should be no problem in granting permission.
Please know that we are very grateful for the work you and the Eggheads are doing in managing the AI previously known as Rome. We understand that you are investing resources not required of other civs in the game and we are in your debt.
As I mentioned in chat, we are most interested in your thoughts on how the game will play out in the south once (inevitably) Rome fizzles and fades. How will you use the brutal combination that is Exp/Inca to gain the land advantage you need to compete with financial India? If you secure the necessary land advantage, how will you fend off the dogpile that results from your inflated city count? I use imp India above, and not our own civ, because we have committed ourselves to a fair division of land - negotiating fair borders with our neighbours. How can we work together to promote the continued, stable, growth of our civs?
General questions, for sure, but if you have the time, we would be interested in hearing your thoughts.
All the best,
Suttree for the OxySuttocratic Republic

I'm leaning towards outright honesty with SutOxy. Telling them that we're not in a position to take any GG cities for a long time due to maintenance and also a lot of unsettled land between us. And also that we have a border agreement with BowAivo which is actually in BowAivo's favour and not ours.
Any lurker thoughts?

There are those Praets to consider too...
I thought the border agreement was pretty fair, is it not? In any case how long is your NAP with BowAvio? You can always renegotiate when it expires...

The praets doesn't seem so much of a threat when GG hasn't been in touch with any of their neighbours. Everyone neighbouring them seems intent on neutralising them ASAP.
The border agreement definitely is in favour of BowAivo, but that's a good thing. Since GG will be annihilated, there's plenty land in that direction when we want to expand, and letting our neighbour in the other direction expand a bit closer to us meanwhile is nice as it keeps them happy and hopefully gives them an incentive to look another way for expansion. Eventually we may have to conquer them of course, but until then it doesn't hurt to let them feel we are giving them concessions while we can. Especially since they are playing Zulu.

I played T84 but am too exhausted to post a report. I'll play T85 tomorrow morning, then post both turns sometime in the evening probably. For now, here is a diplo update, one team at a time.

How are things in the land of the Incas? Do you plan on founding a religion?
I don't necessarily want to have a lot of deals with this team since they're so far ahead, so I'm sandbagging diplo with them. When I do reply, I think we should say something like "We would love a religion, but our research is too slow" to not give anything away (besides the obvious that our economy sucks)

I'm not sure, but I think that Rome has iron near Ravenna, so they could by very dangerous to us.
Us to them 11/11 Wrote:Hello Dinosaurs,
Sorry for the delayed reply. I am out of town and will be returning late Tuesday. Thank you very much for that screenshot. It is very useful to know where the Roman iron is located. Do you think you have any chance to prevent or delay them from connecting it?
Rome does not seem to be replying to any messages from anyone, making them a very dangerous wild card. We agree that it is in the best interest of all of us who border them to work together to neutralize the threat.
When I am at a computer again, I will send new screenshots.
Blame Caledorn

They are working on mathematic.
Us to them tonight Wrote:Hi Dinosaurs,
Thank you for the screenshot. It's too bad that we weren't able to prevent Rome from hooking their iron. I do think a defense pact, or rather, an anti-Rome pact, makes a lot of sense. Have you met Byzantium? We have been working with them, and think a 3-way defensive pact might be most effective. We are talking to you about this first, we haven't spoken with Byzantium about it yet.
Here are the latest pictures of what we can see of Rome.
Byzantium are the EggHeads. I'll post the pictures that I attached when I do the turn report.
