It is far healthier than me ever thinking about that game again. But this has to be some kind of internet equivalent of a black hole of doom and despair. Which is exactly how I felt when the DB tipped... No. I can't go back to that dark place... Can't.... (dies)

Painful civic swap, but we have to do something to try to manage an economy. We only had two cities building units anymore, everyone else is building infrastructure, so OR looks good. Oh yeah, we don't have Judaism in many cities (8), the same number that we have with Hinduism. Maybe we'll eat another turn of anarchy at some point and spread Hindusim around. I just have a hard time believing that we'll make enough gold from the shrine for it to ever be worth it. But, with us hemorrhaging gold each turn due to expenses, the turn of anarchy isn't really harmful. I may do it just to avoid putting any more shrine gold in retep's coffers.

Xenu, I hated your idea of showing our stack on the border. That's a good way to get your stack wiped. Better to make him show his hand and attack his army in the field. Truthfully, though, I just don't have the stomach to fight through long war turns when we have no hope of winning the game. What's the point? So, They're hunkering down in position to eliminate any stack that suttree can move into the south. As for Oxy, I have no idea what his play is. He has knights and has upgraded a few HAs to knights, but his army is way out of position to do anything to suttree. I'm not interested in fighting anyone else so we'll let him make a move. If he declares, we'll give it a look. If he doesn't, we'll just try to grow onto some of these cottages and finish higher than...someone ahead of us. Maybe Molach if the game goes on long enough. Stranger things have probably happened.

He wouldn't have been able to attack our stack, I was going to show it before enforced peace ended, he couldn't have declared war on us to attack. But it doesn't matter.

Given William's acquisition of a ten turn NAP with wetbandit we may have to march the death stack to his border and make sure he isn't up to anything after we NAP suttree again.

I didn't like the idea of throwing all of our units up to the border just to show them. That would have forced suttree to move more units up to counter, if he even cared. I don't want to do anything that could be perceived as provocative, especially now that Oxy is sending signals about knights. Let's see what Oxy does. If he pushes in, maybe we move in too. I'm content to just sit back and build for a while.

Well do you plan to declare war and offer immediate peace for another guaranteed ten turns of peace then? It would be preferable to wondering on any given turn if he's going to move in and would allow us to keep the stack positioned elsewhere where it may be needed, west against William or north against Retep.

I played the turn, just the one picture as there wasn't anything particularly interesting happening in our part of the world. I saw a WLP cannon that looked like it was on a northwesterly path. I'm still not sure what Oxy wanted that iron/horse/1g trade to indicate, as he still hasn't made any moves that I can see. Well, now that I check, he is last to play and is playing now, so we'll learn his motives next turn.

Actually, you'll learn his motives and I will only if you report. I'm out of town at a conference the rest of this week, so enjoy some civ time. If you would ever stop being so cheap, I could have texted you a picture of a culinary delight that I'm taking with me to the conference to share with some of my staff who are also attending, but you're ridiculous and refuse to pay for text messages.
