Xenu, I just realized that I'm also going to need a sub for my fantasy football team. Do you mind babysitting my team for me while I'm out? You don't need to go crazy and micro-tweak every position and look for transactions, just scan the projected points and sub out where it makes sense. Mostly, just don't let anyone who is hurt clog up a lineup spot for me.
The login ID is my work email address. I'll give you the password over the phone before I leave. Thanks for helping. I'm cruising toward a championship and hate to lose it because I'm on vacation. Thanks!!!

That #2 guy has a pretty good team...I wouldn't say you're cruising.
Also, at that guy with two ties.

No. Nonononono!!!! I swore off fantasy football, remember??? I... can't restrain myself, this is going to be another time sink. If you were out of contention it would be one thing, nice and easy.. But if you can win this requires attention and effort.
Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
(This is confirmation that I'll do what must be done to help you win your prize money. There is money on the line, right?)

No. I was invited into this terrible group by one of my grad students and I intend to win. Don't kill yourself though. If you want some giggles, look at my autodraft team.

We had an odd number of teams, thus the ties. Stupid setup. Yeah, the #2 has a good team. I was more talking about my current matchup. I was decently ahead after week 1 of our two week playoff matchup. Then Denver snoozed through the Thursday night game, making me sweat it some until Eli pulled the magic five picks out of the rabbit hat today for a negative point day at QB (while Foles got me ~30). After that, I should be just fine going into next week with whoever comes out of the other side, probably that #2 guy who has Jamaal Charles. I don't think he'll go for 36 again next week, and SF won't go for 18 either. We'll see how it goes.

T225 - In a cultural victory attempt, liable to fail or not, there's an admission that your technology sucks and you're going to need help from your allies (or accomplices, if that's more accurate) to win. I previously offered Wetbandit a MPP, which he at the time declined. He has apparently changed his mind:
Accept! I immediately offered another deal to the only other person I could offer it to:
If I can somehow get a deal like this with all my neighbors it becomes a bit of a web to untangle for whoever wants to cast the first stone at my house of (stained) glass. Theoretically, anyway. All it would probably amount to is the automatic war declarations, disrupted trade deals, and a hasty peace conference to clear up the misunderstanding among my former allies. But at least maybe there would be the slightest hint of a psychological barrier. I can dream, right?
Here's the current view of international relations. I have a ways to go to approach a web spun by the likes of Bismarck.
Tech screen - Molach got a great general at peace, so there goes Fascism.
I'm going to finish Chichen Itza this turn in What We Have. We'll finish Rifling in two turns so I can't wait for Mister Love to finish Sistine and Happy Face has more beakers invested already, so I get more fail gold by finishing it in WWH as opposed to HF. I wanted to finish it this turn so I can start cascading in fail gold next turn when I'll need it, since burning through Rifling will exhaust the treasury. We still have several techs to pick up before we shut off research (up through Liberalism for the +100% culture from Free Speech) so we need the cash.
Apparently I've forgotten to get a shot of F9 for the first time in forever, so you'll have to do without. I think our GNP was around 1100 or so, but obviously we're still 5th/6th rate in research power. Not pictured, our galley is on a bit of a rescue mission, as we've probably lost the would be axe garrison that was supposed to guard the new island city in the south Pacific. While exploring a possible settling location I came across black borders, pushed the axe forward and found...three barbarian longbows guarding a size 2 city. Yup, unless we're really lucky and they're all on a defense mission, we'll lose the axe. Oh well, it isn't much of a deterrent anyway, it would have just been for happiness garrison eventually. No picture, if it survives next turn maybe I'll remember to take one.

Yeah, not sure why he went that way, there were surely better options.
I logged in to pause the game and saw Suttree had declined our offer for a MPP. Meh, I tried. I guess he doesn't want to be friends. I wonder if the calculation was as simple as, "If I sign this deal I may end up in a war, and that may take longer to play turns." If only he was reporting we could know the answer to this, and 1,000 other things people want to know.
And while I was logged in I grabbed a shot of the demographics screen because I have some unhealthy, routine compulsion to do it. As if anyone really looks at them for comparative purposes.
So at max science we're still less than average in GNP, and that's with Kuro's 48 GNP number really dragging down the average quite a bit. I wish William and Retep would kill him off, if not simply as a kindness to let him not log in again then just so some of these numbers would be a bit more significant in relation to the civs out there that matter.
And back to Molach...WHY IS OXY STILL ALIVE??? Big, old, obsolete army, dies to cannons and rifles covered by machine guns en masse. There is absolutely no reason I can see for Molach to have not carved Oxy up by now....Well, other than lack of interest. Which is obvious...Molach has played the last few turns in 10 minutes or so, same as Suttree, similar to Oxy, which is faster than Kuro (although Kuro was in for about 20 minutes one time recently -- I wonder if he fell asleep logged in or if he was doing a report). The only people consistently spending time in game are the three guys ahead of us, Retep (45 last time), William (30ish), and Wetbandit (20ish). I just want to ask, has anyone checked for a pulse in any of the contenders' threads lately? How much longer do these guys want to keep playing? I don't see a ton of interest there, unless they just all play super quick turns. It feels like the game just goes on, they each keep raking their part of the sandbox, and eventually one day someone is going to stumble into a victory condition. This game is mostly lifeless. The patient wants to die. Please, help kill Pitboss Eleven. It's the right thing to do.
