I asked Seven to investigate because in the middle of multiple low odds attacks on a city, B4ndit scrolled his screen to another part of the map to send his chariot to certain death. There's really only one reason to do that: spend bad RNG results where they don't matter.
We have a lot of new blood, and it's great! But we need to help folks adjust to the decidedly non-standard level of trust we've built here. I'm happy B4ndit is working with Seven, and I hope he learns and becomes part of the community we love.
Edit: Noble pointed out (like he do) that I'm mistaken. One GG did spawn, and there were some skirmishes. My point is that diplo on was not as fun as it sounds.

Well, not necessarily. His units may have cycled naturally and I haven't quite figured out how it picks the next unit to cycle (the order that the units are built is definitely a factor, but I'm not sure if there's another aspect that reduces screen scroll as well), so it may pick another unit halfway across the map for which it may make sense to engage in combat with. But it didn't make sense here.

Would it be worth asking the players to put the game on hold until the situation is resolved, in case the turn needs to be replayed?
Also, good catch. The new players in this game have made so many strange moves it didn't look odd to me at all.

Well, I'm not sure how you can reasonably replay a turn like that...

You can see all the info on this situation in my last two posts in Cheater Hater's thread.
My proposed solution is rewind to the offending turn and make B4ndit attack with his units next to the city in the same order, but with the trick chariot at the end. The result will be that the 2nd and 3rd HAs lose, and the chariot still loses too. There will be two defenders left alive in the city and it will survive the turn. I would like to hear what other lurkers think is appropriate, of course.
I still have no idea what prompted Ceiliazul to ask what the order of attacks was. Good ferreting though.

Maybe I'm cynical, but I'm willing to bet that if you went "Freakonomics" on all attacks in PBEM games here, you'd find that the attacker won quite measurably more than the odds would indicate.

Was it horse archers? If so I am still skeptical the odds are correctly displayed. Against humans and in SP, I consistently get better-than-expected results from horse units with innate withdraw (HA and cavalry in particular). The kicker for me was when I was messing with Arabia a while back. Camel archers seemed to -win-, not just win+withdraw, better than when I WB'd in knights.
Although rereading, it looks like he did monkey with the seed. So never mind here.

Yeah, and Hinduism has a better spread chance than other religions too, right? Right...

Now that's just a paranoia of mine. I'm pretty sure it's only a better spread chance to me, when I didn't found it...

Nicely handled Seven, I was suspicious too when CH posted, but Ceil beat me to the question...
