Heh, I didn't play in 13 specifically for that reason, of not wanting to get a leader/civ I'd played before.

I totally agree that Hammurabi (ORG/AGG) of Vikings rocks on this map. It felt diplo-y to say so in the tech thread though so I didn't comment.
I have to run.

Yay no seafood, and no need for Hunting, so Mining>BW are first techs. Scout moves 3 to see if there is any reason to move the settler away from the dry wheat.
Is that lake or coast? We were going to move 39 but instead 33 uncovers the most terrain this turn and does check out more of the BFC for a potential city site 2 of the corn.
Well, the fish is difficult to fit into a potential second city if we settle in place, but a city site 4 of the fish is pretty nice. Not good enough as a second city though, 87 of the fish overlaps the corn but other than that we need to scout more to really make any decisions.
Settled 8 because it kept all of the food, opens up the city sites 47 of the fish, so it would also overlap the corn and still have both spices. Capital still has 8 forests and same number of hills. New capital location either has exactly same number and type of each tile, or exchanged a plains tile for a grassland. Number of river tiles is lower, but as FIN, who cares about that? Still have 8 riverside grassland tiles so it will not matter for the next 100 turns.
Scout will likely move 99 next turn onto the forest hill, and then reassess.
Closer look at the capital. We can see dyes and spices on T0; Calendar looks like a good early tech provided we can find 1 more resource. Worker first is obvious.

Forgot to ask you in the chat, but obviously a mouseover on those grassland tiles, checking for fresh water, would have told us if we were seeing a lake or a seashore. It's also possible to zoom in and look for waves hitting the shore - only salt water has waves. In this case it wasn't really relevant for our scouting decision, though.

First piece of map C&D:
The map is Cylindrical. It's 60 tiles high, and our capital is settled 20 tiles from the south pole.
The map has 4706 land tiles.

And the map is 124 tiles wide.
There are 2734 water tiles. The map has 36.7% water, not enough for circumnavigation with RB Mod. Each player has on average 138 land tiles available.
I have to run.

I don't know if Commodore plans to confirm or deny. Keeping us in the dark is in line with emphasizing scouting.
The map is definitely cylindrical and not toroidal.
