Yeah, that's a thing. I don't think I would have swapped anything but the closest cities to War Elephants (hard to tell how many you did swap, though). Hopefully that is just a defense force, but having a few Elelphants of our own to bolster our power rating wouldn't hurt. Colorado is such junk.

By the way, are you doing anything with that Chariot that's been hanging out on Ruff's borders for the last few turns?

The chariot is heading down to the city south of Seattle that you wanted to scope out. I switched Seattle, Colorado, Washington, Boston and I think that's it to War Elephants, I might have switched Kansas City too? Basically I figured everything past/right next to Washington would count as a safe zone since if they pushed that far we're screwed anyway and put everything before that on emergency War Elephants just in case. The worst that happens is they switch back to Forges quickly, which while it is a delay it is worth helping negate the risk of losing a city/more cities past Colorado.

Think we should get Walls up in Colorado/Denver? At this point it won't be good as much more than a fortress/speed bump against Ruff. Oh, whenever the Workers get a chance, add a road 2East (6, 6) of Colorado. That would let troops shuffle between there and Boston in 2 turns instead of 3.

Troops can already shuffle between them at two turns I believe, but sure. A wall would be a fine build, I probably should have done that over a WE but I didn't think of it, though as it is right now we might just need a warm body over walls and then Walls.

Oh, you're right, I wasn't paying attention to the roads by the border for some reason, although I am going to try to defend my inattention by saying that in the event of an invasion, those roads could get cut off. :P

Yeah, I think getting more units now is better than a wall if we fear for an immediate invasion. Think we'd want Walls anywhere else? A while back I bounced around the idea of trading out or Marble to someone with Stone on a temporary basis. I think we ran out of Marble wonders to build in the immediate future (maybe??) but on the other hand, I don't know if we really want to invest in many walls. On the other hand, I think every one of our border cities are vulnerable. Heck, a few have walls anyway because the AI loves them walls. Don't take this suggestion very seriously, just something that was rattling around in my head.

Walls could be useful in Colorado, Seattle and New York, maaaybe Boston (Not sure if any have any walls already) but Boston is a bit hard to strike out without going through Colorado. After Forges, the Walls could be a solid play, the only sad thing is that it'll be useless when gunpowder comes along, but of course if you're dead beforehand that doesn't matter.

We're going to need to get military everywhere. Bring me everyone! Everyone? EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVEEEEEEEEERRRRRRYOOOOOOOONE!

All cities that had War Elephants queued whipped them: The force is large enough it could bone us if we don't react ASAP and while whipping hurts losing our good cities is gonna hurt more. Everything but New York (Starving the city to 1T the Forge) and New Jersey (It has so little production that just whippined the Confucian Missionary is worth it) is working on Military and I think we should start 3T Feudalism next turn. We get a Great Scientist in T2: I think we might want to pop it for a Golden Age to increase out military. If Mapoleon goes after us we're probably toast no matter what we do, but fortunately it looks like his everything is just being a city garrison. I think we can hold but it'll be tough.

I also shifted some defensive forces out of Colorado and towards Seattle, since Colorado matters little while Seattle matters a lot, though I left enough to not just concede Colorado or anything.

At least we have the Great Library.... You'd think it'd be Commodore who should be nervous, as he's the only civ surrounded by everyone else. But then again, I bet no one else wants to mess with Com. Our military started out the weakest, too. I can't argue with the whips, we don't want to die now, but maybe now let's focus on econ builds in our green core (all of 2-3 cities), and the rest can do military builds. At least once we have Civil Service we can start putting down farms.

I'm not sure how much we can focus on econ builds even in our core, our military is pretty weak right now and if Commodore pushes past Seattle with us doing that we're totally toast. Think continuing CS over Feudalism then?

Ehhhh. You're the driver here, I'm just the one giving possibly faulty advice, but in my mind it's a case of "winning the battle but losing the war." We could whip and chop troops out of everywhere, but if we do that of the cost of the long game, we might as well die here and now. Do we have the tech for Horse Archers? I think we'd actually want a few to try and flank those catapults. Send in a few jumbos to kill/damage the anti-mounted, and the HA's could hopefully clean up a lot of the rest. I'm just going off the pictures right now, but it doesn't look like Com has a ton of anti-mounted in those forces. I'm assuming we don't have a lot of our own catapults.

I think we still want CS over Feudalism. Longbows won't really help us more than any of the other things we can build, and I'd rather get irrigation and Macemen up sooner.
