"71% of the Earth's surface is covered by water. The rest is covered by Tim Howard."

...but seriously, speaking as a mere rec-league goalie, but one for a long, long time...that many spectacular saves is a bad sign.

And broader point...might as well just skip 16 and put all the group winners in the quarter-finals.

BBC Wrote:Suarez apologised on Monday for biting Chiellini, after which Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta said: "Suarez has shown he is humble enough to admit an error, which is very important. "Everyone knows Luis is an excellent player, everyone knows last season he played in various positions in attack, but everyone also knows he is a Liverpool player."

Bartomeu described the player's decision to apologise as "honourable" and "good for football".
"He did something wrong and I think it's everybody in football's responsibility, whether it's Liverpool or others, to help him to go ahead and press on with his football career. It's not easy to admit your mistakes," he said.

Croatia midfielder Ivan Rakitic, who completed his move to Barcelona from Sevilla on Tuesday, also praised Suarez.
He said: "The fact he has had the character and the strength to go in front of everyone and say sorry says a lot about him as a person."

Man, Suarez is such a great guy, I think we ought to consider him for the Nobel Peace Prize... rolleye

Why does it not surprise me that a Croatian is praising Suarez...

I would agree with the praise if he had done it right after the game or at least before receiving the punishment (which would have been less severe in that case).

He just likes having a long summer holiday.

That was a really close game...at least Lahm played as right-back again, which is where he should have been all along.

Terrible, terrible referee...

A game with lots of space and amazing energy from the crowd, but all the fouls and whining made it less than it should have been. I feel really bad for Neymar frown.

Agreed. First yellow card at sixty minutes in the game!
