Weee! Naxrammas!
I've been playing Hearthstone for a while now, and have a lot of the uncommon cards but almost no legendaries. But I still found the first two heroic bosses were a bit of let down, I just ran my control warrior and took them out first time.
Heroic Maexxna was much more fun, and the kind of puzzle I was hoping for. I took her out eventually with a rogue to assassinate the giant (though polymorph, etc. would have worked just as well), but the real trick for me was using mind control techs to keep draining her monsters. She got me down to 2 hit points by turn 7, but then I cleared the board with fan of knives + poison blade + blade break, and then just ran enough crud to keep her side empty the rest of the game.
A lot of fun, I'm looking forward to the next wing!

Zoo feels really overpowered at the moment, the last thing that deck needed was more AoE resilience :P
Even if you owl a nerubian egg, they can still easily give it +1 attack and trade it for your owl
Also, I feel that the lack of a Blood Knight / Black Knight / BGH equivalent for deathrattle is a glaring hole in the game design as it stands...

Heh, played my first post-nax Constructed match against another Priest. He plays Maexxna -- dies to Shadow Word: Pain. I play my Maexxna after he exhausted SW: P on junk, he plays Mind Control. Next turn, I drop a Cabal Shadow Priest and it comes right back. Maexxna is just insanely pro-priest.

I don't see the appeal of Maexxna at all. She's a worse Boulderfist Ogre. Same cost, essentially same health and power. But Maexxna is more vulnerable to silence and the Kodos that everyone is running (and Cabal Shadow Priest!). She's also much worse at going face. Even in your story she died easily to SW: P. Ogre at least would eat up a more valuable SW:D.

Perhaps if she was a 2/9 and could eat Giants without dying, she might be a little more useful. As it is, she's not terribly good IMO.

Oh yeah, I'm just giving her a run for cheesy Inner Fire fun I haven't played for about two months, and just started again for Nax, so I am kicking round rank 14, so who really cares.

Maexxna's statline is infinity/8. Inner Fire doesn't add anything except face damage.

Face damage is pretty important!

Maex needs to be 5 mana or have taunt or something, underwhelming for a legendary. I suppose it's the only thing that trades favourably into ancient of war, but that's such a narrow niche

Maybe if they buffed her to kill any minion she attacks instead of damages. Eating through divine shields would be a reasonable buff and a pretty cool legendary trait.
