so, as you can tell, I haven't posted much. Life has gotten in the way, work mainly.

Early on, i attacked Moloch - that did nothing but hurt me as I had to build up military to ward off an assault that didn;t come (which was almost certainly a mistake by him - he could have easily taken a couple of cities with a few shock axes, I think)

now, on the other side, I'm getting hit by HA. However, the mighty chariots have struck back - I hit his stack with 6 chariots, on the idea that chariots are better on offense then defense. I killed 4 HA and lost 2 chariots, which is ridiculous, even with CII chariots. I might only lose one more city out of this, depending on what happens when he hits me.

Well, they are kicking Yuri's butt. Course, whipped spears don't hurt against a pure HA stack. He's going to have to retreat, having taken one city that I abandoned that he won't be able to hold.

Yuri and I have been at war for a while now. I've been threatening his cap with a galley for awhile, but he apparently decided I was bluffing and left it only guarded by an axe.

The two chariots I had on board burned it to the ground.

I offered peace for my city back. I don't know what he'll do.

I guess I upset Yuri. He counter offered peace for all my cities, so I guess I'm in it for the long haul now.

Fortunately, Praetorians get a 50% city attack... so a praet, especially with shock, will kill an axe in a city with no or little culture and his HA stack will die with prejudice.

So, yuri attacked some time ago and I had to abandon dysentery. next turn, I take it back.




that's 7 praets, 2 axes and 5 spears against 9 HA, 2 axes and a spear. And they are in a city, where praets get an extra 50% bonus. And, I have a GG hanging around, waiting to give a 2nd promo to 10 units.

interestingly, if Yuri moves his forces out, they have a better chance of surviving - if they go to that hill, I'll lose some units hurting the axes.

I moved one of the spears incorrectly by accident, so didnt' really have enough forces to take the city and hold it without loss. So, i just killed most of the forces there and will take it next turn, basically no matter what he does.

he's got a trireme in the central sea, so I've retreated back.

I'm getting currency in 4 turns - one of my neighbors is getting civil service, don't remember who. I am so backwards...

took my city back, offered him peace for one of his cities. If he doesnt' go for it, I'll go take it after healing.

Another chariot vs HA win for me. This one, at least, was a slightly advantaged attack for me - CII and Formation.

I think this whole war would have gone quite differently had Yuri built any barracks for his HA - none of them are promoted, which is odd for an aggressive civ. And he has no archers, which is odd for a protective civ.

btw - I've apparently been at war with HitAnyKey for a few turns now. I didn't even notice - he doesn't border me at all and it makes me think it was a mistake. So I offered peace.

Jowy is down to 2 cities - if I can get peace from Yuris, I may go hit Jowy. I think HAK is on the other side of Jowy.
