it looks like HAK is before me in the turn order, so I haven't been double moving him or being double moved by him. I really have no idea why he would declare on me or what the purpose of that is. like I said, we don't border each other.

HAK took peace.
Yuri offered me straight peace, and I may take it, but I'm going to try to kick his ass some more first - maybe get a city out of it. Will have to create a settler, though, cause I'm going to burn his new capital next turn, I think. He's got a spear in it, and I have a galley with an axe and a praet, so unless he reinforces, it's done. He'll probably kill my galley soon after he has a trireme in the water (I am so behind in tech)
I'll take peace after that - I got currency, so markets and building wealth would be good.

So, some more things happened:
I'm moving a force in the south to threaten two of Yuri's cities
You can't see the second one, cause it's under my forces there, but I'll move the galley over. Given that I keep attacking amphibiously, I think there's a fair chance he'll reinforce that city (it has 2 axes) - if not, I'll just land my praets.
That's a crappy defense, but he's added a couple of HA to it recently, so I think that most of his army now.

That's a gamble, but a reasonable one - he'd need to have a HA ready to take it back, which he might. But if he doesn't, I'll be able to dump an axe, a spear and a chariot in there and reinforce it with another preat and an archer the turn after - pretty tough.
I'm offering him peace for the southern city I'm threatening. I dunno if he'll take it.
I dunno if you noticed in the bottom left corner - that's Iron Will, what was Jowy's last city. He gave me 30 gold before it died, which was nice of him. Poor Jowy.

And the core. Weirdly, very few of my neighbors are running hereditary rule. A couple are in bureaucracy - I don't really understand why people aren't in HR - it's an awesome civic.

well, I kept Middleburg, though, from the talk in tech thread, it's only because of the reload. Which gives me a moral dilemna, of course - do I let it go or keep it?
I dunno - yuris seems resigned that he's going to lose, so maybe not?
Any lurker thoughts? I'm assuming no one is really paying attention, anyway, with 30+ civs to follow, many of which are doing much better than me....

took the one city. Yuri moved one of his axes out of the other, which I killed with a chariot (which I will lose next turn) - but an axe, spear and 4 HA dont' hold up against a bunch of praets and spears. he hit me with a catapult, but that didn't much matter. yuri seems to be gassed - he still has a bunch of cities and I'm attacking with 1 movers, so he'll be around for 20-30 turns, but he's functionally done.

hey - I have outlived 2 civs now!
Got construction, so am dialing up some cats for the final push into yuris land. Going to go CoL - got a fair amount of cities that I'd like to make cheaper and also building some more settlers for yuris-land. they'll basically suck, but every little bit helps.

Apparently, I have outlasted 3 players!! I offered peace to yuris, who has shown up with xbows. So, he's kind of dangerous.
I'd like to get some infra turns in for awhile - dial up courts, lighthouses, forges - maybe pick up heroic epic and national epic, get into buddhism (which spread to me recently). Maybe get Moai set up. Make some stables and get my other quest done (yes, i still have the horse whisperer quest to fulfill). I really can't move very far into Yuris territory as is, anyway - not with

I got a GM recently, so I bulbed CS (all but 1 turn). I'll get that and another GP soon, so I'll kick off a GA soon and switch into bureacracy and org rel (will pick up monotheism soon, as well)
Adding some cheap harbors - already, I am getting a lot of commerce from overseas trade, so upping that will be nice.
The GA will help with infra builds, plus some hefty teching.

Have you already had a golden age? Probably could have gotten to CS with golden age tech for the free civic swap and more GP goodness...
What does the victory screen look like? How long till you come back for yuris?
