I stand corrected.
While I'll grant that the threat may be effective diplomatically, I still find it distasteful, personally. I'll blame my poor lurking for missing out on a lot of what Exploit was doing for the team, too. :neenernee So I guess that begs the question: Why did Broker peel off from Exploit now when it looked like Exploit and Regoarrarr would pound on each other. Which . . . is a question everyone has been busy trying to answer, I guess. If I read Broker's thoughts correctly, it was "you've grown too powerful," though it almost feels like he panicked a bit without thinking about what Rego would become?
Hopefully I haven't missed the point entirely again.

Because regoarrarr is a silver tongued...no, wait.
Because regoarrarr said he felt he couldn't stop Exploit walking all over him and then Exploit would likely win the game...it's exactly what Exploit did but just much smoother and, well, diplomatic. The metagame strategy behind what they both did is actually identical for both players.
I agree with you regarding Broker, and I think he is going to pay for that mistake longterm.

Wow, what a change of tone from exploit in his emails to shady. He clearly outlined mutual benefits. This sort thing should work in long termâ¦

Anyone appreciate the irony that should Exploit pull this off, he is reforming the UTA/NUTA situation?

Circles. Everything goes in circles Certainly does seem to take a lot of work just to get back where everybody started though heh. Wish we had more consistent updates from some of the others to get a better impression of where it's going. Though I guess it adds suspense.
Should work out well for Exploit if he can keep up some diplomacy for a while where he's not throwing around his size and pointing how how he could beat anybody else up. Hopefully he doesn't resort to the 'bully' tactics again or else this could all unravel. Shady is a good target for him to negotiate with, he seems more willing then most to switch sides to whichever he can benefit from the most and don't think he had anything at all to gain in the anti-exploit movement other than bigger people on his borders.

Well of course every decision has it's downside, otherwise this would all be pretty boring I favor going the route of taking out the lins/sunrise/reg group though.

Well, Exploits' Forbidden Palace is in Lin Lost (aka Taco), so if Exploit ever capture all of Lins/sunrise and up to Lockland, then he basically has 3 choke points in the east to defend, with lots of nice yummy grassland to do something with (probably cottage with teh low happy cap). That was my original aim for an ind era war: get that continent, and I'd only need 1 ally to be effectively equal to everyone else, and you always be able to find an ally somewhere, someone who wants to play defense, or doesn't have any land to grow into and you could split a third part with. That continent, plus current holdings, caste, rep and SoL = base rate of 700ish beakers just from the free specialists, and too many cities to get them all drafted in 10 turns.
Conclusion? If Exploit pulls this off he is about 2 steps from victory.
