Keeping your Pindicators defensive, that's the key! Although actually I'm sure he's in the "longing for death" stage of Civ4 Grief, he might let me slip in.
The Five Stages of Civ4 Grief:
-Anger
-Denial
-Ill-considered revenge
-Long for death
-Krill

I'll be surprised abd disappointed if Pin defends with anything less than veteran tenacity. I'll be shocked if he lets his hill/river capital fall to chariots.
It ain't happening.

That last stage...is that when people start next to me or when they turf their remnant of a civ to me to hit enter for 40 turns?
Cos if it's the former that's better laballed mackoti.

I think it's referring to the Krill Euthanasia sub role, taking over for a terminally ill civilization and dying with grace and/or panache. References probably include subbing for AT in PB9 and similar cases whatever those were.

Oh, Pin longs for death, but he's not giving it away or anything. Nor has he advanced to the Krill stage, because Krill is, well, here. Pin also managed a flawless warrior kill with his spear, darned the luck, so no cracking things toward his copper mine right now. In other news, Dazed made peace with no cities changing hands, but THH changed his thread title to depressed, so maybe Dazed pushed him to enable an aggressive plant? Dunno, man.
I got luckyish against Pin's woodie axe...lost the 32% battle, but withdrew, winning myself a great general. I'll take that. My other chariot killed the mauled axe handily, so now we're looking at continued pressure all around the French capital. Whatever it takes to lightly choke him while I expand, ammirite?
Slavery has come to Sodor, and I celebrated by whipping in my fourth fast worker in dear ole Suddrey. I've got an obscene overflow that is 1h short of making an insta-settler. I'm deciding monastery vs. granary with this windfall. Missionaries are good...
Cronk, meanwhile, prepares to grow one more to whip out that marble city...Oracle shot time! Code of Laws is the target...

Turn forty dawned in the usual way, with maneuvering spears and Pin's save accompanied by grumbling about odds. I'm seeking workers, whatever dude.
I finally settled my fourth city, Tidmouth-by-the-sea. It'll eventually be quite the excellent city, but for now it's just a food-heavy one. Growing on pigs, I'll be able to whip out a work boat that enables a good swift regrowth, etc, etc. I'm going to sink other growth hammers into a spear up to 3h for emergencies, then granary goodness for, um, granary goodness. Obscene hammers in those forests, then more of the India standard river valley cottages to follow. I'd forgotten how easy Noble made maint; even on this tight little toroid I'm not breaking the bank yet.
So here's the Kingdom of Sodor, grown a little bit more. Cities got ensmallened a bit of late due to whips, but granaries are a good think and now I have two of them. Knapford will be one-turning a settler next to expand further north, where a good solid chariot is scouting out the turf. Just keep growing unto catapults, folks. Priesthood-Masonry-Writing and Oracle the Code of Laws is my next plan.

Food heavy is an excellent way to start a 4th city... maybe try leading crop instead of gnp this game?
Dont let pin bait your chariots around the south, he might just take an 'enemy's gate is down' approach if he sees a chance.

Yeah, not going to mess around on that one; I burned the GG on promos and an upgrade, so got a 2-move shock axe coming. And more axes to follow, plus I'm putting emergency hammers into spears empire-wide. No need to mess around here.
Exploring chariot, meanwhile, found another non-grain food resource for a city. Still no need for Agriculture!
