"80 Days" is interactive gamebook fiction game from the studio "Inkle" that recreated the "Sorcery!" gamebooks for iOS.
It is loosely based on the novel "Around the World in Eighty Days" by Jules Verne and lots of fun. My first playthrough took around 2.5 hours and I have visited less than 20% of all available cities and of course only tested a single set of choices. Metacritic review score: 89% Launch Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ai6ISI3uimA iTunes Link: https://itunes.apple.com/app/80-days/id892812659?mt=8

![]() Recommendations: 1) Rebel Inc You might have come across this strategy game, since it's been in the app charts for quite a while. While the easy and medium difficulty may not really test the average RB member, brutal difficulty is another story, especially if you try different leaders. A try for a mission usually takes 15-20 minutes, which I feel is good timeframe. What I personally love: There are in-app purchases for new commanders, maps and even cheats, but you can unlock them all for free, if you beat certain challenges. I think it's a nice touch by the developers to say: "Well, if you relly know how to play our game we will give you the additional content for free!" ![]() iOS & Android 2) Super Hydorah This is a SHMUP for consoles, but there is a port for iOS. Usually I suck at these kind of games and don't like them a lot, but SH has two different diffculty modes: A traditional one for the hardcore players and a "casual" one, which is still not completely easy, but allows for unlimited mission restarts and better shields. Be sure to check it out, it's a lot of fun no matter your skill level: Link: (because the forum for some unknown reason allows only 1 embedded video per post) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pi-xu06RdO8 (the scan lines can be turned off ingame, IIRC) 3) Grimvalor This is a 2D platform/action game, which was obviously inspired by "Dark Souls", but the difficulty is a lot lower (if you don't miss the important upgrades ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ja4MyxIDyG0 iOS & Android |
