Smallworld is an excellent board-strategy game, which is ported to iphone.

Edit: Might be ipad only...

i can't stop playing Drop7. Occasionally I'll go a month or two, but it draws me back.

Two favorites for competition (at work, we'd each fire up a single-player game but would see who would get the highest score) were 'Orbital' and 'Flick Golf'.

Also on WWF often as of late.

I am playing mainly on my iPad, so I don't know how well some of these work on iPhone, but I can recommend:

a) Casual games when you wait at the bus station:

1. Tiny Wings HD(awesome)
2. DoodleJump
3. Fruit Ninja
4. Canabalt
5. Solipskier
6. The Incident
7. Ski Safari

b) Good board games on iOS

1. Small World
2. Carcasonne
3. Cafe International
4. Puerto Rico
5. San Juan

c) PC games ported to iOS:

1. World of Goo
2. Osmos HD
3. PvZ
4. Eufloria
5. Monkey Island SE

d) Other great games, which are considerably better than your average casual game:

1. Kingdom Rush (best Tower Defense)
2. Nihilumbra
3. Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective (I believe its an Nintendo DS port)
4. Incoboto
5. Sword and Sworcery

Where's My Water? is surprisingly good, even though it's made by Disney...

I've been playing the Dominion app some. It's really limited in its scope of cards, but you can play online pretty easily and it's free.

the android version has all the cards (minus the newest set dark age), but you can only play vs AI players.

the I-phone version you can play other humans online, but it only has the base set.

So they both kinda suck, I guess.
