Well it's not always a good idea to label people by their past. I did that to Regoarrar in this game and always assumed they were up to something devious. Turned out that wasn't the case (and I doubt Rego would come here and lie about it ). I can understand why HRE doesn't want to break that NAP.. If I was in his place, I wouldn't either. We need him, he doesn't need us.. India isn't his problem for a long while, and when it will become their problem then it would be too late. It's really a double-bladed sword.. Do I want to destroy this powerhouse before he becomes unstoppable, or do I want him to exist so his neighbours are pinned down and won't become powerhouses.
HRE promised to gift units to Dantski at turn 99. 2 axes. Goddammit They'll bring the rest "later". We aren't playing with the cards we're dealt with, we threw away half of them.
Video update coming up this weekend. Just before the attack. Oh btw one of my chariots lost a battle against a barbarian warrior, 78% odds IIRC. Sucks. It was a mistake to send them there to begin with (barbarian city spawned on coast of inner sea).. I thought I'd get some nice exp and get rid of the city, but looks like lady luck isn't smiling for me, she's shitting on me.

That's a quote from India's email to me yesterday. Either they know what we are planning and why we are planning that or the wording is just a very very big coincidence. Next turns should be very interesting. Worst case scenario is of course if they've managed to have someone flip sides and send them intel.

*shrug*
For the record, i do not endorse that plan of action at all though.
Athlete also died there. Kinda important point IMO.

Quote:[COLOR="PaleGreen"]Greetings members of the Coalition,
Hope everything's going well. Soon it's time to strike. Good to hear that Whosit will be joining us rather sooner than later. Now to that intel. India are researching Horseback Riding and they can have it completed in just 2 turns! (That's just crazy...) Anyway I think the reasoning is to 1) Attack Dantski 2) Counter my Phalanxes. But thankfully they won't have too much time creating those, and I have a spear with me and soon two. Bring spears.
They also came to me to ask for a same fifty turn NAP than with HRE, so they're obviously buying the dogpile-on-dantski -blindside. Not sure how much that'll help us, kinda feels like that just put them heavier to the military mode. On the other hand though, that might have changed their minds from Feodalism to Horseback Riding, which I think is a pretty good thing since we're the attacking side in this war.
I will have 10 phalanx, 1 spear, 1 warrior, 4 chariots and 1 archer for the attack. Ottomans should have some 4 horsearchers and 2 chariots to add to that. We are probably going for Chancelorsville first, as defeating it will cut off their northern city and more importantly make it harder for them to defend their cities and resources and easier for me to defend my empire. If it looks like we have a shot at the capital, then we could join forces with Mali and HRE at Gettysburg. We'll have see how things go before setting anything in stone though.
Good luck all, let's return triumphant! Any questions or comments?

Quote:[COLOR="PaleGreen"]Hey Ottomans,
I agree on the plan. Get your units in Thebes so that at Turn 100 they can move forwards. Later they see our stack the better. I sent a letter to CoW that should answer some of your questions. I underestimated India's research, thought I'd have more time to make spears if they decide to go for Horseback Riding, so I only have one. I'm making a second one from Sparta atm. Whipped a Phalanx and some hammers should overflow to the spear. Estimated time of arrival for construction is 25 turns. I've had to lower my research to pay for all the units.
Are you sure you want to keep those units in your control? That'd mean we have to be very careful with our moves to not screw up and leave units in open alone. Also have you got a preference as to should we claim the first or last half of the turn? I'm thinking last, so we can control when the turn ends and thus when our timeframe opens and ends again.

Some fresh messages for a change. You've probably read the older stuff from other's threads. I gave up on trying to copy all the emails, it was just too much of a hassle. My game and reporting have been quite a mess, but next time I'll know what to do Gonna go record that video now.

Great video!
I notice that you are at +1 gold per turn at 70% gold. With the unit expenses at 9 per turn, then I would expect the unit supply costs to be pretty big once you exit your territory. You only have reserve of 6 gold in the bank. So there is a risk that when you attack, then even going 100% gold might not be enough, and units get disbanded. Might it be a good idea to go binary science? I.e. put science to 0% now to save cash reserves, then later on when you are sure you can afford it, use up your cash reserve? You should still get construction just as quickly (and more quickly if you build libraries).
Would it be a good idea to build a few more cottages, especially since you are financial, so you could get some 3 coin tiles pretty quickly. If the war goes well, then hopefully you or one of your allies could even draft a few indian workers to help speed up construction...

Enjoyed the video. Can you give some instructions on the best way to do a video like that?
