Man, Comm still hasn't settled White Night yet. There is some really nice land on that peninsula and instead he's settling things like Blood Rites and Dead Beat that don't claim any new resources. Honestly, the biggest effect of plako's scout pop was showing up down there so early and convincing Commodore that land wasn't his.
The Dreylin, Jojo and REMAI triangle looks like it has an interesting future. The way things are going, I'd guess Dreylin's team gets the island and REMAI can't retaliate because they're too busy with Jojo. Seeing as both sides are building up at the same time, I'm not sure Jojo's attack will be profitable, but he should slowly make ground, particularly with the help from Portugal. Incidentally, I think attacking Carthage is the wrong move for REMAI. They have ample land in the north to expand into and Joey is low on total land but it's very lush(I probably overcompensated there). Moot point anyway, since it sounds like military units will be pretty important with our lurker knowledge.

Against Plako it's a bit of a catch-22 though. He had to find a decent front city to the north so for most of the time he had to delay settling that peninsula, because Plako is not someone that you can expect to leave you alone. Although, yeah, he needs to try and settle it now...but he hasn't even scouted it
I think he should have gotten Sailing a while back and just thrown over an archer or something to scout with, and then maybe dumped a single settler/worker pair to take advantage of capital seafood? If anything I don't agree with how he threw everything to the south so hard.

Agreed with throwing everything south too much too. At least he has managed to reclaim something with that northern border city though IIRC, plako still got the best of the deal even there.

Looking at the map I think that was always going to be the area where Plako and Commodore had a front city. Plako has a stupendous amount of land he can claim but like he said, it isn't food rich.

Nice read from Commodore there. But,
Quote:But I'd rather be us than poor Gavagai.
Gavagai seems to have the best chance of grabbing the centre continent, or at least it's southern half. Neither REMAI nor HAK seem like they'll last and Gav is the next closet neighbour, at worst a small galley hop away. Now he's sandwiched in between both Gawdzak and Mack, but they both have easier targets for the moment.

Quote:So gavagai declared and killed many of hak units, i declared myself on Hak and after i declared, he logs in and start whiping, should i say something or let it be?
Mack has a point here. HAK had already ended turn when Mack declared war. I think he logged back in to whip based on Cornflakes' advice but he shouldn't have made any moves when he saw Mack's declaration.
It's slightly complicated by the fact that the game would run a lot smoother with HAK playing after both Mack and Gavagai instead of in between the two of them.

I agree the game would be better wothout a three way tirn split, but thats not the issue here. Hak double moved, and therefore mack has the following options:
-mention it in the tech thread and ask for a reload
-accept the double move for the good of the game
Either way, HAK needs to understand so that it didn't happen again.

I think Mack should have declared on the right side of the turn split both for timer reasons and because something like this might happen, but I guess he's entitled to the attacker's advantage.
I agree HAK shouldn't have whipped - although if he asks Mack to double move him (as mentioned in his thread) does that solve the problem?

Technically no, it screws over mack if if runs into any units that wouldn't have appeared.

I'm catching up here a bit. Anyone care to provide an overview of the game so far? I have below 9 questions. E.g. getting one sentence answer to those would be great!
1. Anything special with map or settings?
2. Any interesting picks? (this being the first RtR snake pick IIRC)
3. Someone with especially strong or weak land?
4. Award for the strongest early game?
5. Any early conflicts?
6. Which players still have chances to win this? / Current ranking?
7. Current conflicts/races
8. Any game-changing events/conflicts/decisions ahead?
9. Something else that is interesting? Surprises so far?
