I have to ask why Windows XP. That really isn't a safe option to connect to the Internet anymore.

Does a regular (sp) game of Civ4 work?

Maybe his computer is running FreeBSD or something natively?
Anyone savvy enough to install a virtual machine is probably fine on XP. Especially with the POSReady fix so it keeps getting updates. And since it's a virtual machine, you can just destroy it every day anyway. Or have a different one for every activity. "Load XP Civ4 edition please" "Load XP seedy porn site edition in another window please"

If luddite runs *nix, he better play using Wine, as I did. Vitual machine is slow, there are 3d acceleration problems in VM and XP is not safe.

And mods don't work on the mac version anyway, right? And windows xp is just easier to install on a virtual machine, and I don't use it for anything except playing games.
And yeah SP works fine.

I guess I'll try installing wine and see if that works better.

Civ stats shows that Retep has PHFT.
So it's just a matter of sorting out Luddite's tech issues and we'll be good to go.

About Luddite problem, something like that happen to me and it was because I put the mod in the wrong folder (well Old Harry already said this but I said again just in case)
