Thoth: continue
Elkad: restart
wetbandit: restart
Grimace: restart
Commodore: continue
retep: continue
yuris: abstain
Gawdzak: continue
Donovan: restart
luddite: not stated
Jojo: restart
Krill: abstain

I count 5 for restart, 4 to continue, 2 abstention and 1 that hasn't commented.

If we restart, we need a lurker to do the following:
  • Remove all huts that have already been popped from the map (5 minutes)
  • Give all players that popped gold the same amount in world builder (5 minutes)
  • Uncover the specific tiles that players uncovered from map pops for each player (this will take half an hour I imagine, could be more)
  • Grant techs to Thoth and Elkad (5 minutes)
  • Give players the correct amount of XP from hut pops
  • Place additional warriors and scouts that have been popped
  • Delete Thoth from the game
  • Enable Espionage

Along with checking this should take an hour or so from starting until someone can check and restart the game.

tl;dr: find a competent person to make those changes or play on.

Or we can just concede to Thoth's unholy hut popping skills.

Spoke with Xenu. He can restart the game from T0 with Thoth and Elkad keeping their techs but due to time pressures couldn't do the rest. I hope everyone is OK with the following compromise:

Thoth and Elkad keep techs that they popped and will be given to them on T0, the huts that gave these techs will be removed from the map. The same will happen for anyone that popped a scout. All other huts that have been popped will be left on the map, but the results that have already occurred will not be present ie you can pop huts again that didn't give techs to see if you do any better this time. This benefits those players that popped maps; I'll admit that I benefit from this, but it is going to be the quickest way to get the game restarted: we can have it up and going again after Xenu plays the PB18 turn tonight.

Anyone with objections to this (Thoth, yours don't count)? If you do, please give alternative options and time frames, whilst I don't care what we do, whatever it is that we do I want it done quickly.

Hi guys!

The Pitboss Inquisition have been looking into the case of Thoth, and several discrepancies have been found. The charge is as follows:

* Unholy skills at hut popping.

To remedy this situation, a small donation must be made in form of several goats and squirrels that must be sacrificed. The blood of said squirrels must be drizzled carefully over a white rock, preferably an opal, and then said rock must be preserved in a jar of formaldehyde.

The alternative is that Thoth must be burnt at the stake, compelled by the power of RNG.

If either of these precautions are not taken, the Pitboss Gods will inflict severe punishment through horrible RNG incidents, barbarian uprisings, and other sacred acts of balance.

You have been duly warned!

As the Americans learned so painfully in Earth's final century, free flow of information is the only safeguard against tyranny. The once-chained people whose leaders at last lose their grip on information flow will soon burst with freedom and vitality, but the free nation gradually constricting its grip on public discourse has begun its rapid slide into despotism. I'm fine with whatever.

I don't think restarting the game with Thoth having the techs he popped is fair. Starting with 5 techs and being able to make a more informed choice of initial research is much better than starting with 2 techs and popping 3 random ones

While I won't object too loudly if the plan outlined by Krill happens, I strongly feel that if we restart from turn 0, we should start from scratch, with no hut results added

Thoth would obviously have to follow his original tech path.
I have to run.

Yeah, clearly "all the same moves" includes "moving beakers into techs". If Thoth shifted research because he popped his current target, well, EP is on so we have a handy way to pee away excess commerce.

My current feelings: tetchy, impatient, annoyed. My vote is now and always on "what will get us playing the game the fastest".

I would also point out that my vote was only for restart if we had a way to grant the techs at the original times, or everyone gets new hut results. I honestly think the fairest outcome if Thoth is not willing to take his chances again is to play on.
