Summoner is actually one of the few traits you cannot pick up via Insane.

Callback of over two years, there.

(Keelyn/Balseraph Summoner isn't OP'd in recent versions of EitB, btw.)

  • The Clan don't need a nerf; some people seem to be wildly overestimating their power level. I'm fine with banning them though if that will keep things simpler.
  • Last days looks to be 3-2 in favor of OFF, with HK abstaining. Most of the other "contested" settings have decisive majorities as well.
  • I don't think some of you understand what Blessings of Amatheon does. It increases the number of resources generated but also skews the resource distributions due to a programming quirk. Bob will be altering this anyway, so it doesn't even actually matter.

Thanks for the info on Blessings, i guess thats settled. I agree with you about Clan. I suggested the nerf cause I really like having them in game but multiple people thought they were OP. As for the "contested" settings, you're right of course, based on votes they're decided. However, as some ppl professed strong preferences against those settings I wanted to hear from them about going along with majority or if they have a compelling reason for their capitalized dissent. Just so everyone is satisfied.

I don't care either way about Keelyn, I actually thought the ban was because of the easy culture victory but I guess summoner with puppets is scarier.

I'm actually OK with Puppets/Summoner, as broken as it may be. I always thought that was part of the original intention of Puppets, and Balsarephs *SHOULD* be a rather strong (if unpredictable) civ.

I have a *STRONG* preference for Living World *ON* and *NOT* having Raging Barbs, but after hearing about the Blessings bug with resource-distribution (which I wasn't aware of), I'm actually starting to prefer to have it off solely for that reason.

Maybe the mapmaker could randomly scatter a few extra resources around, or better yet do it in accordance with lore (as in, Mithril or Gems closer to the Dwarves, Deer closer to the Elves) and civ-strengths like I initially suggested to make up for lack of Blessings?

I *REALLY* don't want Last Days because on a game with 5-6 players (HidingKneel, PLEASE DON'T GO, THE DRONES NEED YOU! Alpha Centauri ftw :D ) SOMEBODY is almost guaranteed to research Infernal Pact fairly early on. What I REALLY don't want is the mapmaker to generate a beautiful map of lush plains, and rolling forested hills- only to have it all turn into fire+brimstone and scorched earth within 120 turns...

Also, the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Stephanos, Buebos, Yersinia, and the Avatar of Wrath) are all ridiculously dangerous- and more than capable of wiping out whichever players are unlucky enough to have them spawn next to them... Between that and Raging Barbs possibly being on (despite my disagreement), Living World being on (which sometimes generates negative events, or very positive ones for your nemesis), Lairs+Huts being on, and having 5-6 players crammed into a map, we're looking at a RIDICULOUSLY dangerous world where many players are sure to get eliminated far too quickly if we enable "Last Days"...

In case there's any confusion, Blessings of Amatheon =/= Living World. They're two different game options.

Vote for whatever settings you want North, but you are *VASTLY* overestimating the *DANGER* that barbarian units pose on Monarch difficulty, as well as the CHALLENGE in managing Hell terrain.

Please give me some credit here. I will not generate a map which is too small for however many players you finally end up with. Extend some credit to your fellow players while you're at it; everyone who knows anything about FFH is cognizant about what Living World and other settings do.

If Keelyn isn't banned, she's going to be my first preference. My goal will be to make sure she gets banned in all future games.

As Q points out, Living World is entirely separate from Blessings. Living World increases the frequency of random events, and most pbems we've done have had it enabled. Blessings only matters during map generation and had no effect on events.

I also prefer to have Last Days disabled, but I think you're overestimating how dangerous the Armageddon units are. Stephanos and Yersinia tend to be taken down pretty easily. Buboes, Ars Moriendi and the Avatar of Wrath are tougher, but usually not too bad by the time they arrive. In FFH31, the Amurites even managed to defeat Meshabber of Dis while he was wielding the unique weapons of all four horsemen!

I've pumped Stephanoes out before anyone else had even unlocked Axemen before in my Single Player games, so I don't know about the Horsemen "not being that dangerous"... mischief

As long as we're talking imbalanced rulers, why don't we go ahead and enable Unrestricted Leaders- and I'll show you all a *TRULY* broken civ/leader combination in FFH2, and teach you why you should fear the night and the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse! lol devil

Bring it on! dancing butcher2

You wanted randomness North Star? Well, Last Days will definitely add that! So, why not I say! Unrestricted Leaders is fine with me. I'd like to see Advanced Start as well if we can all agree to it.

Okay, that was the opposite of what I was trying to say.
