OK, hopeful tech path: AH>Myst>Polytheism, should finish Polytheism around t35, thanks to constantly working the sheep tile on the river for extra commerce. It's feasible that no one heads for Hinduism early (as per RBPB2 which people have commented on). If I did land Hinduism, I would obviously try to land it in my second city, and the question would then be do I try for a triple holy city? Hmm. Quite a few decisions to make...if it works out of course. Someone could always do the annoying thing and research religion first. I can just about get a settler out in that amount of time, but the second city is not going to be settled far from the capital, I won;t have the workers, or warriors, to enable it.

Tick, tock, tick, tock...
The downside of playing alone is that you never have anyone to talk to about the game. Believe it or not this is the first major game I've played in 7 years that I've played without someone to bounce ideas off, so I have no idea how this game is going to turn out.
Oh, and I'm bored.

Thanks Shady
Right now i'm just twiddling my fingers and waiting for hte remaining three teams to do something. Two of them have settled, so they shouldn't take that long to figure out what to tech...

Morgan didn't settle for a second turn in a row...I can't think of any reason someone would move into the fog twice without a good reason, and this is a balanced map so there shouldn't be a good reason.
I think he moved away, figured he screwed up, then moved back. I think he'll settle next turn. If he doesn't, well, that's three turns down on everyone else for the ultimate tech civ/leader that he can't pull back in expansion, so that's good for me, I suppose.

Land score is out of 4047. This has to be an all land map...a huge Terra map isn't even that much. And with everyone looking to have 8 or 9 land tiles in the capital, that's some good evidence...
What all land maps are there? TBG, Highlands can be configured to only have small lakes. Fantasy Real...doubt that. Great Plains? Possibility, but it wouldn't be balanced, and would need the little sea filled in. Arborial, Rainforest, Boreal (latter, no chance).

I seem to be losing the post count war. Need to do something about that, but not quite sure...
OK, what about this: long term metagaming.
There are 7 religions, and 17 teams, and according to the % of world land I have in my borders, about 4090 tiles, so enough land for 204 cities with no overlap, so probably about 250 cities with good overlap.
If I can get 2 of them, and make one of them the AP religion, then I could be aiming for about 50 cities minimum to have my religions, and hopefully a double shrine city with Judaism and Christianity.
If I get lucky and get Hinduism, then I'm possibly aiming for a triple holy city, and more like 75 cities with religion, which works out at about 215 gpt with all gold multipliers.
However, to bulb Theo I need meditation and priesthood, which also opens up the Oracle if it isn't beelined. Theo is likely to be bulbed with the second Prophet, unless I have a good reason to go for a triple shrine city. If I were to go for the Oracle, it would be wise to either get Alphabet, or CoL. Get CoL for Confusianism and I could end up with 4 religions...but then if I went Caste and shoved out a GS I can then bulb Philo and that gets me a fifth religion.
5 religions would likely give me about 80% coverage of the world in religions, and up to about 400 gpt easy via shrines, and require at most 3 bulbs and 5 shrines to cash in on (assuming I bulbed CoL which is possible, provided I don't get Monarchy), for a total cost of 8 great people, 1 GS and 7GP, or 3600 agjusted GPP, or 1800 to myself. And I could have Pacifism available to help with that...
Only real question is when to get BW or pottery And need to think about how/where to build the AP.
This doesn't include any tech trading pointers, I'll address them next.

OK, tech trading: Need to have something to offer, and what could I offer?
I have all of the religion techs, and I don't think too many people are going to go up that route, although monarchy is required. THe aim would be to get someone to save gold and deficit research it once alphabet was in and I could gift them the prerequisite techs.
On that note, Monarchy = 540 base beakers.
Mono, Poly, med, ph (ignore myst/masona18ry) = 216 + 180 + 150 + 120 = 666. So I damned well ain't promising to trade him anything else, especially as I'd be giving him a 1.4 tech bonus instead of the standard 1.2, which cuts down the actualy cost of Monarchy to 386 beakers.
Other point, is that taking into account pottery and BW (Mining I can probably squeeze in) my tech isn't exactly going to be spectacular, so it could be that I don't quite reach preisthood before someone reaches alphabet if they beeline it via tech, with an early academy (Morgan? Pericles?)
I probably need to set up 1 particular player to research alphabet, and promise him all of hte religious techs to get him to go that way. Minimum is probably a 4 way agreement, Alphabet, Maths, Monarchy (via savings) and me going religions. Although most people would probably be pissed at me doing that, unless I offer then missionaries... which would play right into my hands. An additional 2 teams, IW and HBR would also be useful, but I want to try and steer anyone away from going CoL if I want to bulb it, but I am kinda resigned to the fact someone will likely Oracle it. Maths is cheap at 450, Alpha and Monarchy are more expensive. However, CoL is 630 and Theo 900, both of which make very good trade bait. Adding a possible Philo at 1440 (full use of the bulb), I'd be 3 techs from Lib, albeit that's 6840 beakers. CoL would probably keep everyone happy that I'm pulling my own weight, Philo I wouldn't release until Lib was about to be researched.
Which brings be back round to my original strategy back on the first page, and backstabbing.

The Oracle could probably break this game open. If someone did go alphabet asap (and there are 2 Ind civs that could easily afford to do so after grabbing food techs) then we could see a very polarised game opening up. I don't think regoarrarr would go for that (who would be the best player to utilise it after his experience in RBPB1), they'll realise shortly that they can't tech fast enough to really make use of early alphabet and Exp + fast workers, but the rest? Early CoL is a possibility for the Org civs, but I hope that whoever goes for it, if they do go early, just takes Monarchy.
If anyone tries to Oracle MC and expand, I probably have enough time to Oracle CoL, so I'm not too worried about that...my capital is capable of 16 hpt at size 6 with 4 mined hills, which does assume religion or a happy resource, which is just about enough time to research writing (which I need to bulb Theo anyway!)
