Ah, I missed that, thought they were turned off in PB18. I think it makes sense to turn them off for this game at least.
I'd highly recommend turning events OFF. Among the events remaining, those that give away free promotions are still ridiculously strong and unsuitable for MP. During PB18 I believe plako had 3 separate events giving different types of units free promotions, for instance (archers, triremes, cannons). Makes combat much more costly for an adversary, at the behest of the RNG. Others may have had unbalancing event effects as well, I noticed plako's because I was paying close attention to his events.

I'm pretty decently sure I've found the spot in the uncompiled dll where you can disable city trades without removing them from the trade window. If so that will force the no city trading rule from even being needed, which would be nice.
Brick I think we're at 150 tiles per player not including the islands. I'm fine with barbs on/off either way.
Regarding huts... I think everyone knows how I feel about huts... But, I'm not playing in this game so its up to you.
IIRC there's some kind of bug with events that Krill found that causes them to trigger for some players but not others? I'm not exactly clear what the problem was.
