All praise to the RNG gods for great neighbours in Elkad, Grimace and TheWannabe. Please keep Plako, Serdoa and especially dtay away from me.
Here is the starting BFC sandbox for you to look at and start planning, if you choose to do so. This accurately represents what the starting BFC will look like when you load into the game. The file has any strategic resources stripped out (since you would not know those on turn 0).
We reserve the right to make any changes to the BFC, but this is at least very close to what it will look like in game, so should be dependable for planning purposes. No screenshot for the thread too because that's just time consuming right now for me to go take a picture of each one too. Link to the starting sandbox: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4491...wordWBSave Er, what the fuck is that river doing around that cow on the sea? Brick, did you break the map generator?
the bfc is generated by a tool that just rips those 21 tiles out from the map and saves them to another file. That river then *probably* means there's land on the other side in the actual map.
Or we could just be bad mapmakers.
I'm trying to keep positive here, but the only opening that makes any sense is Fishing eot T4> Hunting eot T7> BW eot T18ish and work boat eot T4, worker eot T13, pasture T17, move to hill/forest T18, grow eot T18, warrior eot T19, mine/cancel T19, grow @3 eot T21, chop T22, whip worker T23, dump overflow into a settler, regrow to size 3 whilst chopping more forests and then whip that about T29.
Long term plan is to leave the capital at size 5 working the fish, 1/4 ivory, and three mined hills. I'd work a fourth, but it's plains so I can't. I'd rather work the cow and split off the fish, but that's not possible due to land form, not that the cow is worth splitting off the aid growth as it's a 4 food yield tile. EDIT: If the offer was I lost the ivory forest and the grass cow, but turned the ivory tile to a wet grass corn I'd take it. That's how much I hate the resource positioning. Because of the shit usage of the grass cow, it can't help growth, I'm probably going to have to plant further away from the capital and can't share food. So I'm likely going to need to road all the way there, chop a barracks and improve inner ring food before moving one worker back to help the third worker mine the shit out of the capital. That's why two workers before settle. Early settler isn't viable with this start or the traits, so worker>settler with warriors inserted where needed isn't happening. The advantage of the cow is that I'll be making plenty of hammers for warriors so shouldn't have issues with running low on those. |
