Copper isn't. I can get IW fast enough with the tech cost changes that iron can solve my problems.
Of course if the map maker can fuck up copper then what is there to stop iron from being in an even worse position.

Copper 8 tiles from capital v copper 3 tiles from capital: I dare you to post in the lurker thread that given the lushness of the resources on this map, Egypt can't rush someone with WC and get a WC to the capital by T40.
Do you expect any player to rush archers to have a chance to not die before T50? That's what's driving my current micromanagement and dot map plans. If Egypt has horse within 4 tiles of his capital, how long does it take to get a WC out? Especially if he can scout and figure out I have no copper between us. Does Egypt have the possibility to rush me, and do I have a possible play to stop the rush whilst not causing irreparable damage to my growth curve?
The copper position is really annoying because of hte variance in the output of our second city locations.. It's deadly because I don't have a way to stop a WC rush. Starting next to Joao is unlucky. Starting next to Egypt is unlucky. Starting next to Joao of Egypt with no copper is enough to break my game. And losing because of something out of my control is enough to really piss me off.

Hey I understand that, I've been known to blow my top over just that exact thing before. But, I'm not sure what else to tell you. I already apologized for the map mistake and anything else I could say would be spoilers. I think you'll figure out a solution though. Good luck!

Marble is equidistant between capitals.
dtay settled the earliest second city in the game T25, and he didn't whip so I seriously doubt he has more than 1 worker due to timings.
Adrien mined a plains hill (AGG/ORG) which is bizarre. Borders popped to third ring due to religion.
Judaism remains unfounded.
Henge is unbuilt as yet, due eot43.
First settler due eot33.
Second settler due around T47-50.
IW due eot45.
Both scouts are going to be recalled to fog bust due to lack of warriors.

Highest CY is 19 with size 4 capital or two cities. Mine's 11. I make 7 excess food but need only half of that to grow one pop point. Avoid growth this turn, then grow on T29 and T30 with 2 workers out. Reasonable start.

Very solid start I'd say. So where's the first settler going?

Somewhere south. The third settler will not be ready until after IW is completed, so I ought to place the second city such that I can either plant for a southern copper or for a first ring iron. Other than that, it's grabbing as many food resources as I can.
