[Spoilers] Adrien and Mardoc relax and play civ

How much power does Jowy have currently ? Getting 2 cities in 10t means less military builds so we'd probably be reduced to defend once again. Not that it's necessarily bad, if we do it well we can field defenses faster than Jowy can field attackers thanks to our new cities.

Oh, a lot. Not sure the exact amount, although I can show you a Power graph next time I log in. Hard to judge how much is real power vs. population/tech/buildings, but I'm pretty sure he could field another 20-unit stack by now at least. And cats do even things up a bunch, can't rely on 13 units to beat 20 once he has cats. Can still lean on culture and first-strike

So, yeah, probably I should just play it conservatively. Build the backlines city, take the barb city, and otherwise just make a stack. It'll give us more options than Sailing would - while if we can hold, we can always slip in Sailing later on. I can believe that offshore cities will pay for themselves, but I can't believe they'll pay in just 10 turns. Well, really more like three turns, ater research Sailing -> Build boats -> build and move settlers

Also, HBR gives us not just HA, but also WElephants. Elephants and cats might have fewer casualties at Velociraptor than axes and cats would - particularly if Jowy's garrison is still Shock promoted.

Yeah, ok, maybe we have a lot of army building to do if we want to continue our thorn-role. Especially now that Jowy has Construction due in three.

But for the time being, we've got a fair number of more peaceful things in store. Jowy went ahead and finished up our dotmap - if we can take advantage of interior lines, he's got a lot of front to defend now - and I've started collecting troops for the barb city. Debating whether three archers calls for eight axes, or 2 cats and four axes. Probably going to just go with numbers to make sure we can grab it fast. Don't want Jowy to steal a march on us, and also the sooner it's out of revolt, the sooner it can be replacing the axes we'll lose to take the place.

Well we really need to get more units out. The ivory for WEs would come from Fenn ?

No, Wetbandit has been giving us Ivory for a long while now. It's made a significant difference in our productivity, having that extra happiness.

Anyway, played the turn, nothing exciting just kept stacking hammers into catapults. Going to hit the barb city with six axes/1 chariot in three turns; I expect to lose two axes.

Lost two axes to not even scratch the barb archers. Stopped at that point. Maybe the remaining five axes/1 chariot would have actually been able to take the city, but Jowy has two Vultures present so any more bad luck would have been just handing the city to him.

Not entirely sure what to do next. Maybe bring in reinforcements? We have three catapults now. Or else maybe give up on the idea. frown

Oh that sucks... Get a cat in there and take the damn place

Ok, two cats advancing, place should be ours as soon as they arrive. Jowy...pillaged the deer camp lol. True, we won't be getting much profit from this place, quickly - but that's not nearly the worst thing he could have done with a pair of vultures.

Meanwhile, I just keep building more units everywhere else. Still rather light, but not ridiculously so anymore. We're to a point where I'm mixing in whips again, most cities are down to 1 or 0 whip unhappiness. Trying to keep it that way, at least as long as no new massive invasion stacks show up. Three-four more turns on our peace treaty, plus whatever time Jowy needs for logistics and walking in. That assumes, of course, that he wants war immediately - his Power graph hasn't been increasing as fast lately.

Well, here's a bit of a surprise:

I accepted, of course. Not sure whether it means anything - maybe Jowy wants peace now that we've proved to be so thorn-like, maybe he's trying to lull us off guard (although extra population for production and/or whip won't help him there).

Not sure whether I want to let it affect my behavior, either. I mean, that's the silver from Velociraptor hammer

but...we weren't going to be able to go to war with Jowy right away, not offensive war anyway. So for the time being he gets to choose war or peace, regardless.

Take the free stuff and run smile
He's probably afraid of a Fenn intervention and struggling with his economy but it won't last
