[Spoilers] Adrien and Mardoc relax and play civ

I say it should be monarchy or calendar, not both. Either we get our happiness from units (+ wine) or from resources (how many calendar resources do we even have ?)

One - silk at Triceratops. A second (sugar) is possible if we claim that apparently empty island (although I don't know when it was last scouted and hence if it's still empty).

I think I phrased myself poorly. Wasn't saying that Calendar should come before more miltech, just that it will always be useful when we can afford to go for it.

Realistically, it'll be Currency, then some mix of CoL/Monarchy (and prereqs)/Iron/MC/Machinery/Engineering. Not even sure on the order, we might rather have a little more military progress before Rathauses. Currency seems pretty obviously worthwhile, between additional foreign overseas traderoutes and markets.

Or of course, someone could invade beforehand and mess up anything that resembles a plan wink.

Oh right. Yes then I think we agree. We'll see after currency what our economy needs.

I realized I never explicitly posted this:

We're happy to concede at any time to anyone except Jowy. It probably doesn't matter yet. Although I'd give Wetbandit a 95% chance of victory from what I can see, I imagine some of his foes still have hope.

Didn't Yuris just take a wetbandit city ? I thought I saw that on civstats.

Ok, so maybe a well-fought defense by Yuri would be the key to the other 5%. Wetbandit did just get the MoM and I think a golden age, on top of his ridiculous score lead. But I suppose there is a real history of players being overconfident and crippled by a war that takes a lot longer and costs a lot more than expected. It's what we think/hope we've done to Jowy, after all hammer

So how's it going ?

Eh, I'm ready to be done with this. Jowy's working on Guilds, so that'll probably happen soonish. Still building a lot of troops to at least make him pay cash for our cities. Not sure whether our hitters should be spears or HA. The important bit is still going to be our catapult stack, though.

We did get one city to the island. Fenn also got a city over there, a few turns ahead of us, but he left the plains hill spot open. When we arrived, he offered us open borders, so I think we keep the city until Jowy hits us. Presumably Fenn will vulture the island from us once we're the rest of the way dead. His Power plus ours is keeping up with Jowy, but not catching up, so Jowy may well own the continent after all - especially if Fenn lets Jowy hit us without interfering. I ought to get a couple more settlers out for the deer islands, at least, maybe one more for the big island.

I've been playing each turn as it comes, no real plans anymore.

I thought it was Jowy with the vultures tongue

I'm down to bad puns sorry, not much else to offer

Weird: apparently Fenn took a city from Jowy this turn. I didn't think he had enough army to seriously consider offense. I'll give it a turn or three to see if it's a real war or a skirmish, but if it's serious, I'll plan to join in and try for at least Velociraptor.
