That's true, his capital is too vulnerable. OTOH, I wouldn't call us "double-sized". What are we on, 10 cities?

Btw, what I really want to is to play a builder game. In PB12, PB16, PB20, PB22, PB25 and now PB27 I had war - hot or cold - pretty much always. I think PB21 and AlaePB were the only ones where I could enjoy builder stuff and pick my fights.
Bit of a shame you had to defend yourselves from Grimace then.

If the latter, then sarcasm is ill-placed. What we had here is the race between us and Barteq for Grimace's land which was forced upon us by the game situation. I think we wrote a lot about this earlier. Of course, I still will start wars when not starting them is a bad play. What I want is a game where you have a reasonable option not to wage a war.
I understand, but I feel a little more for Grimace who may (or may not) have wanted to play a builders game too.
Anyway, a very nicely executed war so far, even if you thought it a bit risky with hindsight, I think you have to take risks like that if you're serious about winning a game this size.

Barteq played and I jumped into the game to see what he did.
Actually, those are very good news. Not only he removes pressure from my two fresh Constructions, he also gives me a chance to trade an axe for a jaguar (well, with some risk that it'll be two axes; chances are pretty low). I think next turn I will do exactly that and evacuate Apatite. Also this. Tsargon blocked off ice floods site. We now have trade connection with him and open borders.
I think we should still build the city in the last remaining legal spot on the ice floods. It will even be able to work a fish. Just for cultural pressure's sake.
Tsargon now has three iron! He also blocked off our ability to reach HAK Did he take money for open borders, or are we getting his research of Alphabet for free?
Damn, Apatite is such a great city. We can't defend it though, even if we retake, has to turned into no-man's land. I really wish Barteq, after the initial military wrangling, will agree to a peaceful split of the land of some sort. Fighting really doesn't make sense once the division is more or less clear.
