I'm going to start streaming at the turn of hte hour (12, 13 minutes form this post).

TW has given permission to ignore him in the turn split. Given unit posiitons, there is not advantage to either side for ignoring the turn split (ie it takes 2 turns just for our units to come into contact).

Is this video not on your Twitch?

Dunno, I haven't used Twitch in about a year, have they screwed about with video retention settings since then?

TBH, it wasn't a good turn to stream. Gavagai declared war on Tsargon and I need to consolidate my plans for how top deal with this situation. Gavagais power is reaching a level where he can take everything from Tsargon and I can't accept that.

I'm going to one turn each of Polytheism, Priesthood and Code of Laws. I am building wealth in some cities this turn (of which 3 make more than 10 hammers), but I hope to knock a couple of them off next turn and final turn only have a few cities making 2-5hpt on wealth. Then I'm going Caste and throwing out 2 GA. I know I can get one GA in 8 turns, and a second one a further 8 turns after that. Because of tha\t length of caste usage, I'm going to whip almost every single city that isn't on either settler/workboats (because those whips are already assigned) and the low food high hammer cities of Dimsdale, Werbergh, The Exchange, Leamore and Bloxwich. I aim to get a further 7HA just from those whips, plus current production.

I'm going to set up a 2 city front against Gavagai that is the entire height of Tsargons empire (well, from sea to shining sea, anyway). At that point I need to just have a stupidly large empire to defend from Gavagai and to eat HAK. But hte latter is put off indefinately. I'm not attacking HAK until I know I can hold that land from Gavagai.

And yes. I am planning to essentially double my current empire size by T140 now.

Turn 110 report

Yeah AT, you aren't taking that city with what you have there. So probably time to call that war a day unles you have something up your sleeve to take the capital.

OK, macro time.

I'm fairly sure we're on a continent here, and the other half of hte players are on another continent. I'll have confirmation in the next dozen turns if I find dtay is surrounded by sea on three sides.

The southern 2 thirds of our continent is basically a sideways 8. Whomever holds the centre area, has a large advantage in terms of defending, as it provides the possibility of moving troops from one side of the continent to the other through the central land bridge. Tsargon currently holds one side central land bridge. That's what I want. I want the area of Hank Williams2, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson north. The flip side is that if AT breaks Adrien, I need to take the northern half of the land bridge. I'm more concerned about dealing with Gavagai taking all this land, than AT up north, so this is hte area where I focus. Plus Gavagai is currently more likely to eat another player than AT is at present.

The other issue though is that to protect HAKs core from Gavagai, I need to have a city around the marble/wheat area next to the lake. NOw the obvious methods to defend these two areas are culture bombs. I think this is my only realistic way to hold both areas, but the north needs the artist bomb sooner. The next problem is how to defend both artist bombs and not allow Gavagai to try and settle between the two bombs and counter bomb, forcing me to split the defenders. That suggests that I need the two bomb locations to att least touch borders at 60%. That means there can be no more than 2 tiles difference east/west and 8 tiles difference north/south. But given Engineering, I shouldn't allow more than a mere 5 tiles between city locations.

Engineering is probably the most important tech for me other than a possible Astro beeline (as mentioned previously). I need that road movement. My empire streches over a huge stretch of land already, and I'm talking about making it larger.

Back to city locations. The north of Tsargons dot map is a bitch to integrate into an artist bomb plan. Waylon Jennings is too far forward, too close to Tsargons capital and it will force a fight to the death from Gavagai, because I'd be trying to take all his gains. Willie Nelson is too far back and leaves a great big corridor to the north through Hank Williams2 which creates a three city front. All the cities are minimum distance so I can't cram an extra city in there to bomb.

The only places I have found that really work, are on the hill SE of Waylon and on the desert tile between the copper and wheat (633 of Jerry Reed). Both of those are pretty aggressive though. I may be forced to make a compromise and bomb Willie Nelson: if I capture WN then I need to make the decision to raze or keep on that turn, and then raze Waylon and Hank2, replanting a none-bomb city 2N of Waylon. But whichever way you cut it, I will end up with a 3 city front unless I put a northern bomb city around Waylon.

At least Tsargon is building units now.

It's not a huge MFG lead. I'm currently focussing on growing cities as shown in the next graph...

We have comparable production, apart from the fact I'm throwing 50hpt at Wealth for this turn. This food could translate into making up the hammer differential, and let me catch up with power, but running Caste? I need to turn that food onto workshops...on which note, MC is 1 turn of max research and one turn of breakeven, and that should get quicker. MC is the next tech after CoL, probably due around T116, T117.

We're both looking at possibly fighting a war at teh end of a really long supply chain. Realistically, there isn't a good way to fight that. If Gavagai doesn't have a good SoD with Siege, then a bomb city on a hill would be very hard for him to break. The travel time and the time it took to construct a stack just makes it nigh impossible to win an invasion, which is why my plan revolves around running in the back door whilst Tsargon is distracted and claiming the land and sticking to the defensive.

The largest issue is that I still have to actually make a GA, that's what screws up the timings more than anything else. Probably going to have to starve Werbergh to get it out, 6 turns at size 8 running 5 artists are a sustainable food deficit.

That's not a build list of someone planning war with 4 people at the same time. OTOH, all those granaries and lighthouses are finished in the next few turns and extra food helps whip out units right? Oh...
