Gavagai manages his personal GULAG

Hey, I said "for the glory of the party" and everything, deadpan, and kept a straight face too! I thought you could do just about anything as long as it was for the glory of the party and people died. Besides, everyone knows that at least a third of the citizenry is on the stasi rolls, it was a simple mathematical deduction.
In any event, I decline captain Yemelyanov's appointment invitation. I have the destruction of a continent (or full planet if I botch the job) already scheduled for that time on Tuesday. Then there's the matter of rank--while I don't doubt the captain is a reliable party man a full fledged tyrant is beyond his authority. It's somewhere in section 78 of the Villain Handbook if your guys can be bothered with reading it. Honestly, sometimes the Party leaves something to be desired regarding training, but in light of all the purges I suppose they're doing the best that can be managed. Perhaps Wednesday the party can provide a more senior officer for the, what was the word you used, "interview"? Be sure to bring along a technician trained to at least level Operating Thetan II for best results. Below that they don't usually work out too well during "audits," as I prefer to call them. Cheers, and wish your man good luck! We'll see him on Wednesday. Comrade, your excuses are for now irrelevant (though elitist propaganda you are spouting will be noted in your file). You will be given a possibility to confess your crimes during the formal process. Also, your appointment is not an invitation and can't be declined. If you don't appear at room 314 at 9.00, you will have KGB strike team in your house at 9.10. They will escort you to captain Yemelyanov.
2 Axes and 3 Immortals in the city. He has 2 more Immortals on a hill 1N. I will consider attacking if Tsargon doesn't add any real defender. However, I can hardly believe that will be the case: at the very least he can whip something. More likely I will fall back to plan B and move to the hill 1N of the city next turn. This way I'll be able to occupy north-eastern road on T113 and cut off the bulk of Persian army just when the northern offensive starts.
I hope he just moves immortals into the city, a great amount of experience there.
I'm travelling to Kaz again for this week, will have patchy forum access and no game access. Running a Party Purge theme Werewolf game would be cool, I think even you, Gav, would enjoy _running_ a WW game, if not playing in one. Alas, to be truly in line with the theme it would have to be a bastard game with no wolves
Honestly, I enjoy the in-character banter in this thread as much as the game. And your gameplay has been quite entertaining too. Keep it up, comrades. Na pososhok!
In that case do tell the captain's men to be careful, as I leave my (adequately appointed) party issue domicile rigged with an unnecessarily large and wholly irresponsible amount of military surplus explosives. In the event of visitors it would be unfortunate for the men entering through doors and windows to inadvertantly flatten the city block where my (really, adequately furnished!) apartment is located. The primary school next door is practically new, I think it was only rebuilt two decades ago, really would be a shame for it and all the little blighters in it to be blown up again. Don't you remember the mess the last time that happened? The amount of paperwork it took to straighten that out, it was almost as bad as having to rebuild the school! Anyway, if the captain has a working space ship he can meet me on Tuesday if he insists, I'll send coordinates in the next message, just confirm the appointment. Otherwise I'll be back in this sector on Wednesday. Good day, Comrade!

The players actually did figure it out, eventually. The best moment was one round when after the players woke up they immediately started arguing about who to hang without even finding out if anyone had been murdered (I actually forgot about that step too, lol). As Kublai Khan says, 'let us betray and rend each other like the rabid dogs we truly are'. We also once did vampire mafia, where murdered villagers rose as fellow vampires (I'm sure such a variant exists already ...). I think the villagers may have actually won somehow. It was played at night in the dark with only candles for light, and the girls on the couch were all hugging each other for dear life. Good times. My friend group at least used to play a lot of Mafia, and tends to get way too into it. The yelling and the multi-hour post-game analysis are real, yo.
A little bit disappointing turn.
Tsargon has 4 Axes in the city and walls. Not taking it, not even close. I went with plan B and moved my army to the hill. He has an axe and a worker 1NE from the city, can possibly reinforce with an axe from Jerry Reed and an Immortla from South East. And with any unit in the city, of course. That was an annoying part. I noticed random Tsargon's Immortal on Barteq's territory only after my worker put his turn into cottage. A perfect example why it is a bad habit not to cancel all worker tasks at the end of every turn. I had an axe and a skirm nearby, had to use them both to cover the worker. |
