T120 update

So...that's a good chunk of units. Note to self: find a way to kill them before bombing aggressively.

More important not: Gav pillaged that road leading up to the aggressive bomb site. This is interesting. What units does he have and where the fuck are they? Adrien just took the city adjacent to Hank Willams 2, leaving only Kristofferson extant. Right now I'm wondering about how this is going to play out because I dont have any real units other than HA. Gav does but he needs to take out Jerry Reed. Adrien has an unknown stack threatening unklown Gav units his northern reaches.

And then there's this:

HAK you utter fucking tool you killed Tsargons units. Those units were supposed to act as bodies in Jerry, because the more units that needed to be killed by Gav meant there were more units to suck up collateral and more units to anchor Gavs units to a tile I can attack in the future. Bah, you're killing me here.

Not that you will ever be allowed to keep that city HAK. Too close to Jerry and you lack units. So you need to raze it next turn and you better have a settler in position, and even then, what are you going to do? Best plan: settle where the stack is and turtle.

This explains dtays rise in power. Also he has Machinery so he is currently researching Guilds. Still slower than his tech rate in PB18 so I figure he is going easy on his neighbours.

I know I'm down at least 3K beakers in the race to Guilds, but so long as I match Gav I'm not worried. What I am hoping for though is for Barteq to get Guilds quickly and that ruins Gavs concentration.

Now onto the cities:

No plan. Want to build infrastructure. Probably Lighthouse>Forge>Market. Food Uber Alles

Settler>settler>settler>settler>settler....

HA>Forge>more units.

GA is finished, now back to growth. Swapping off the copper to new cottage next turn. More food, more pop, grow onto the hills at the end, windmill those hills.

Ideally swapping the cottage over to Werbergh. Need to farm a few tiles, or more likely swap over onto a windmill, grow to size 9 and grab a forge. Units before hte forge though until Gav is handled.

Grow onto more cottages, ideally chop most of a market after the court house to make space for more cottages. I want to hand the cow off in the next few turns, but still need the hammers here. I'll be swapping off the silver ass the cottages come online as well. MP is going to transition to filler city.

Yay more units. Cottaging a few tiles, swap onto them and off the hills. Probably not getting hte pig back for a bit though. More on that later.

I'll swap off the coast and onto the silver as PM gets cottages. Pick up the cow in a few turns. Need to cottage the coasts ASAP though. Poor worker positioning (or perhaps more an example of the amount I have captured and that this is about as far away as possible form where I captured them). Grabbing the library but would prefer the market. Hammers matter though. That forest is only one getting dropped into this city.

GS for the GA, due eot T128. With the food box mostly empty, I need to dump the city pop onto cottages for the GA IMO.

Need to grow 4 more pop. That would put me 1 pop into the unhappy so I want that forge. Then probably Wealth or units during the GA.

Who cares, same as above, grow pop and wealth/units in the GA. Unhappy from slavery is going to wear off pretty quickly.

More units. Then forge. Courthouse is wiser though, but this is the ideal hammer city for military in this area so that comes first. Other cities get the courthouses.

Mines go down, hpt goes up, more HA wanted but forge is necessary though due to happy issues, that goes on after this HA.

Chopping the archer because the forest came form the sugar, plantation finishes next turn. Back onto courthouse afterwards. Growing onto cottages.

Another cat after this, in preparation for shoving out a GS in the GA.

Possible 400 point GS pump city. Library would be nice but doubt that happens. Lack worker turns to chop that last forest.

Off the farm next turn and onto coast to finish the lighthouse eoT123 then force growth prior to the GA being fired.

Other possible 400 point GP pump city. Or maybe 500 point pump city.

Secondary hammer city for military for dealing with Gav. Lighthouse>Forge (chopped)>units.

Don't care. Border city, more military, not going to be prioritised but growth for pop for emergency whips is my back up plan.

I'll give up the lake to force grow Chesterton to size 13. That takes 140 food. I'm going to not reach that size in time for a GA, so I'll have to curtail growth by the start of the GA around size 11, maybe size 12. Forge will be chopped, and units, oh my units. Actually this is a decent HE city now I think about it, don't need Levee if I use Mil Academy for late game units.

Don't care. Growth on coast for GA commerce. Need to mine a hill and get that chop finished but that is next on the agenda for one of my few workers...

Don't care. Gonna have to give up one forest to Wolstanton to help the forge along, but gets the copper from next turn so hammers can work out. Will get a barracks afterwards and guess what, more units. Maybe wealth.

Talked abotu earlier, barracks>growth and wealth.

Those costs frown

Figure this out by yourself.

This is one strung out military. Still 4th strongest in the world, but position it right and that's enough.

Machinery next, but saving gold. I'm wondering if someone is going to pop Astro with gouble GS somewhere else (the other continent is more advanced than we are IMO, with my and Gav bringing up the back of the pack of big dogs). I'm probablg going to restart research right at the GA, or on T124 when I can 2 turn machinery. Not sure which.

Total pop 147. And that's a big land lead over my neighbours. This is a brightside. Draws favour me so long as I don't lose out to someone in tech race in the next 40 turns.

63 food lead. I was aiming for 100. I'll take it. GNP sucks though, but I believe that is temporary.

I want more court houses damnit. First job of a GA is get them. OK maybe second job after ensuring Gav doesn't get an army into a critical decision.

Sorry that I haven't been able to do macro. I should have finished this report 2 hours ago and I way past going to bed for work in the morning...only off Sunday now until Boxing day. Some dumb fuck volunteered to work Xmas morning frown

Oh fine, fuck sleep:

Biggest issue is I completely lack cottages. I can rectify that by mass cottages and Emancipation. That means Banking. That means Monarchy, Fued, Machinery, Guilds and Banking, which is something in the region of 4.5K base beakers.

In a GA starting T130 I'm going to pick up at least 250 hammers per turn given growth over that period. GA commerce goes straight into tech, but even then I'm not going to get more than 1 commerce per pop point, so I'm only going to get at absolute max 200 commerce/turn extra with limited multipliers in palace. That's 1600 base beakers max. I barely make 100 bpt now as is. So I probably need wealth builds in big cities but I think I can make it.

So yeah, I'm going to need that GA. I'm still going to hit Optics, Compass and double bulbed Astro around T140. The main departure from this is I almost certainly need Engineering, which is another 2K beaker tech.

We'll see what happens though.

Overview shot from last turn that I forgot to post. No city info available, mainly useful to look at development level and to plan unit movement.

I've done well in my other games. Other than PB25 I guess.

Played T121. Took almost 2 hours because I've committed to a set path now. Gav has too many units for me to feel comfortable attacking him but I feel OK with bomb plans given his unit positions.

There's too many units for me to deal with. We're matched unit for unit outside Tsargons land (almost right down to promotions actually), but when you add in the stack at Jerry Reed, things get dicey.

I can handle the units in the north, but if I move to threaten the stack at JR then Gav just needs to combine stacks and even Tsargon and my stack can't match it, provided Gav adds cats to his slowmover stack. If I move forward and bomb the Death bomb site, then there isn't anything to stop Gav from just ignoring JR and marching right on the Death bomb. I can only move forward if I can destroy one of those stacks whilst they're split. Gav sees me coming, so I don't think he'll give me that opportunity.

I could have moved my HA onto the horse or the plains hill mine just outside culture. There was nothing stopping Gav then just moving his stack onto the grass hill and forcing a fight next turn (if he had the extra 2 workers on the fog, otherwise delayed the attack a turn). It just forces an attack between two equally matched stacks, and even if I get lucky, there is still enough in the fog and that slowmover stack (also has 6HA) to force me back whilst I regroup and I lose control.

I'm sticking with the original defensive bomb plan and pillaged the road on the death bomb site. Now I get to bomb if Gav runs the fast mover stack in and the slow movers can't keep up. Gav can't plant a city except on the old Waylon Jennings site that can be one moved and we get a stable border. Gav will just try to kill JR and then heal and can't attack me until after that. This gives me enough turns to get to city defence fleshed out with real units and get Chesteron and Wolstanton into position to build units to hold this front.

I may offer Gav peace in a few turns, and I don't know if he'll accept or not. Peace does mean that we can both reposition, so I think that he will only take peace if he wants to move units to the Barteq front or to invade HAK. But if he invades HAK then we end up with a proxy war anyway.

Gonna need build a few more units HAK. Good positioning though. It covers the approach from the SW for a front city on the plains hill I can plant. Looks like I need a few more settlers.

5 more pop points next turn.

76 food lead on second place. I still need OB with someone else though. May end up being forced to go Alphabet after Machinery, which I expect to research T124, at that point it opens up CKN whips if I also revolt back into slavery.
