It really sucks if taotao doesn't get circumnav, that was supposed to be a big thing on this map. I hope it's just delayed a turn...

I think tao numbered the cotages and the mines, the tile which were yet improved were the plains, and surprize there were more mines then cotages, even i cotaged few brown tiles as well.And we had some jungle as well and if wwasnt for DZ land which was mostly green then Tao would had very few tiles to cotage to campare with others.But maybe we dont think same about grasland and plain tiles .Anyway our play proved even your land is not as good as others(still the land was very good not like in some pitbos...) with a solid play and adapting to what you got you can do very good.Map is excelent and astro islands were very nice and well placed.

About Tao chanses are still very good and higher then REM for example but needs a diferent way to capitalize on that.While Rem can sit for a while and grow cities to size 15 ore above and buil universities and all kind of infra and goin for war latter i think Tao in the incoming GA should invest everithing in militari and preppare to conquer someone.

if you have a +10 food surplus in a city there's really nothing stopping you from cottaging river plains and river grassland hills. there's nobody holding a gun to your head about putting mines on these tiles.

Barteq got a great scientist, so I assume he'll fire up a GA. Also, he has Guilds now. All these will make the war against him just a bit more complicated. It makes me doubt the idea to launch an offensive against boak even further, especially given that Adrien and HAK seem to be doing a good job on their own.

I don't get Gav's reasoning at all here. He's planning an equal tech fight against a big neighbor who just caught up on miltech (and has a GA + Slavery to build/upgrade knights). He could pile in on boak and pick up a good chunk of land for really cheap, and come back for Barteq later.

If he was worried about HAK and Adrien, and looking to prevent them from growing, I could understand that. But elsewhere he posts that he considers HAK to be food, just delayed until he can handle East Indiamen, and Adrien to be an ally.

I really wish barteq would post more. I'd like to know if his whipping is for units or infra. The aztecs are a very interesting civ, because whipping is so strong for them.

Once you became a global lurker you gave up your unspoiled perspective so any advice you give can now be perceived as including outside information an unspoiled player or dedlurker wouldn't have had access to, whether it's true or not. you aren't a player now. advising tech path and strategy is over the line for lurkers. answering mechanics questions,etc, that's the kind of information we can provide.but never in a way that leads the player to actions he/she didn't think of on their own.
