So, I lucked out, as it apears that the culture from the Holy City bonus accumulates even on the turn that you found it (so culture is after research in the turn order). Next turn the borders expand, and the worker moves to the sheep, then moves back to the gold.

Scouting by India...another sodding Lion.

And someone is doing some crazy research. Yes, my GNP is amazingly sucky, even taking into account the free +5 culture. Partly that is due to the -3 gpt from maintenence.

EDIT: Turns out India are researching AH with both prerequisites. Now I feel slightly happier about it.

(3:17:35 PM) Dan Miller: ok
(3:20:16 PM) Krill: On a side note, there was something else I wanted to say to you beforehand
(3:20:34 PM) Dan Miller: ok
(3:21:27 PM) Krill: Once the first chat is completed, there are one or two side issues that I wanted to discuss with your team. They aren't dependent on each other, but if the like the former, the later makes sense
(3:21:48 PM) Krill: And now I'v founded Hinduism in my second city, want a mssionary?
(3:22:06 PM) Dan Miller: i did see that you founded hinduism
(3:22:13 PM) Dan Miller: i can't see why we would not want a missionary
(3:24:58 PM) Krill: Do you know how to make chat rooms in Pidgin?
(3:25:09 PM) Dan Miller: no
(3:25:15 PM) Krill: bummer
(3:30:02 PM) Krill: BTW
(3:30:07 PM) Krill: you noticed teh 32 GNP?
(3:30:19 PM) Dan Miller: that you?
(3:30:24 PM) Krill: God no
(3:30:27 PM) Krill: I'm on 21
(3:30:33 PM) Krill: my GNP sucks
(3:30:34 PM) Dan Miller: even with your 5 culture?
(3:30:45 PM) Krill: I'm researching Mining dude
(3:30:52 PM) Krill: Getting that gold hooked up
(3:30:58 PM) Krill: I was wondering if it was Exploit
(3:31:19 PM) Krill: If he already had pottery and AH, maybe he had cottaged a few tiles and is beelining Alphabet?
(3:31:26 PM) Dan Miller: could be - his cap is size 5
(3:31:32 PM) Dan Miller: that's gold 1N of your 2nd city?
(3:31:36 PM) Krill: Yup
(3:31:40 PM) Dan Miller: nice
(3:31:42 PM) Krill: Kinda why i want Mining...
(3:31:45 PM) Dan Miller: we have "jungle" silver....

(3:32:30 PM) Dan Miller: ah
(3:34:57 PM) Dan Miller: heh
(3:35:02 PM) Dan Miller: i just checked my demographics screen
(3:35:05 PM) Dan Miller: that 32 is us :-D
(3:35:47 PM) Krill: WTF dude
(3:36:10 PM) Krill: Not that I expect or even hope for an answer, but how?
(3:36:19 PM) Dan Miller: we are researching AH
(3:36:22 PM) Dan Miller: and have both pre-reqs
(3:36:23 PM) Dan Miller: plus henge
(3:36:29 PM) Dan Miller: we're not really making much commerce
(3:36:45 PM) Krill: Ah, that makes me feel slightly happier smile
(3:36:56 PM) Dan Miller: sleep well my child
(3:38:55 PM) Krill: Just a heads up, but DIM won;t be able to make it for another 3-4 hours

Quote:Hi Krill,

I have attached two screenshots one at the resolution you requeseted and also a higher res shot as for some reason not all bonuses were tagged in the low res shot. As you can see we have done very little exploring, mostly keeping to our immediate surroundings to scout potential city sites, so we are very aware that if you provide screenshots of your land we would be heavily in your debt. We have recently built more scouts and we'll be off exploring to the SW and NW more intensively, we can provide updated screenshots as scouting progresses.

We're taking an awful risk giving screenshots of our entire empire and strategic resource state to the civ with war chariots, so please take this as a sign that we really do want to work closely with your team and that we also do trust you to not use this screenshot against us or provide the information therein to others without our permission. We will of course grant you the same guarantee. Speaking of not working against each other what would you say to a NAP between our teams?

Congratulations on landing Hinduism, you spoke earlier about having a better idea of strategies and tech paths once you had Hinduism. Are you prepared to discuss possible tech trades?

Mukha and Dantski

PS I don't think clouds appear with flying camera enabled so this might make it easier to screenshot.

Quote:OK guys,

Here is the combined world map, however there were some issues, namely that the map you sent me seems to be the wrong resolution, it was much too small. I did however get it to expand to fit it into mine, so it's just about passable. That might have something to do with flying camera; the screen shots that I've been using have been taken without it, just using the normal zoom feature to get everything to line up identical. It's the easiest standard to use for everyone, as flying camera is totally random where you take the screen shots from.

I promise not to give your screenshots to anyone else, provided that you agree to the same with mine. I've given you the original screen shots as well in case you want to recreate my world map from scratch.

Unfortunately I'm a little busy tonight, so I can't go into details of tech trades, but if you want a chat tomorrow there is a good chance I can oblige you at some point. There is a good chance that I want to research Writing myself though, but that is still up in the air as I'm researching Mining atm.

What does the bolded section mean?

Are you simming in your head, or did you create a sandbox?

Did you trade your composite map to Mukhski, or just your own map?
I have to run.

I sent a composite map amde from my photos and sent that to Mutski, as well as the original photos.

I caved in and made a sandbox...I needed to calculate maintence costs and I can't do that in my head unfortunately frown

Bolded section...nah, I'll explain that shortly...

(8:07:27 PM)
ilios: drumroll
(8:07:38 PM)
Darrell: <makes sure not to drink the wine>
(8:07:39 PM)
Krill: As we have all seen from RBPB1, tech alliances are going to be a major feature of the game
(8:08:12 PM)
Krill: In that game Alphabet got researched by the early 70s', on Noble.
(8:08:28 PM)
Krill: This game has much more expensive tech costs, and maintenece is also right through the roof
(8:08:54 PM)
Krill: If we were to expand at a similar rate as in RBPB1, we wouldn't reach Alphabet until turn 100
(8:09:31 PM)
Krill: That isn't good for anyone
(8:09:37 PM)
ilios: i guess 3-4 gold upkeep for the first city
(8:09:47 PM)
Krill: So I'll now be blunt. I can ORacle Alphabet on end of turn 62
(8:09:59 PM)
Krill: yes, I have 3 gold upkeep for my second city
(8:10:19 PM)
ilios: frickin' rough
(8:10:23 PM)
Krill: Don;t even think of growing to 4 cities without having 5 river cottages down already
(8:10:43 PM)
Darrell: I accpet that challenge smile
(8:10:56 PM)
Krill: It's not a laughing matter
(8:11:07 PM)
Darrell: Okay, I'll try to be serious just this once.
(8:11:19 PM)
regoarrarr: if it doesn't work, we're just blaming darrell anyways....
(8:11:20 PM)
dazedroyalty: "why so serious?"
(8:11:43 PM)
ilios: so what's the deal Krill
(8:11:47 PM)
Krill: If you want to try and pull off what I did in PB1, be my guest, but you'll realise that no one will be anywhere near trading techs, never mind gold, by the time you bankrupt yourself
(8:12:06 PM)
Krill: The settings have some unique challenges
(8:12:10 PM)
Krill: What I propose is this
(8:12:17 PM)
Krill: I Oracle Alphabet
(8:12:39 PM)
ilios: small remark
(8:12:50 PM)
ilios: if you don't mind
(8:13:02 PM)
Krill: Give me one moment and hte floor is yours
(8:13:08 PM)
ilios: go ahead
(8:14:22 PM)
Krill: you two teams get another 5 teams minimum, and we can get Maths/Alpha/Monarchy/CoL/Currency/IW/HBR/MC in a first round tech trade trade. I can get alphabet quickly enough that people can ignore quite a few ancient era techs and we trade them around once Alphabet is in
(8:15:11 PM)
Krill: IF a couple of teams save gold from t50 onwards they can easily start the more expensive techs by trading for hte cheaper ancient techs
(8:15:34 PM)
Krill: The floor is yours Ilios
(8:16:27 PM)
ilios: thanks
(8:16:56 PM)
ilios: HuPac of Mali will most certainly go for Oracle as well
(8:17:05 PM)
Krill: They won't be as fast as me
(8:17:13 PM)
Krill: they are going to head for MC
(8:17:18 PM)
ilios: yup
(8:17:25 PM)
Krill: meaning they need to get pottery and then up to preisthood
(8:17:39 PM)
Krill: if they head for ph first their tech will suck
(8:18:00 PM)
Darrell: pre-reqs for MC and pre-reqs for Alphabet are of similar cost
(8:18:17 PM)
Darrell: But yeah, I don't doubt that you will beat them
(8:18:47 PM)
Krill: The gold helps me, and if I have to I can slave it out and save 2 turns
(8:19:14 PM)
dazedroyalty: O
(8:19:25 PM)
regoarrarr: so 2 thoughts
(8:19:25 PM)
Krill: I've already run the MM
(8:19:33 PM)
Krill: sorry, go ahead regoarrarr
(8:19:36 PM)
regoarrarr: 1 ) plans for NAPs between us as we research techs?
(8:19:41 PM)
regoarrarr: 2) do you think 8 civs will be enough?
(8:19:52 PM)
regoarrarr: okay and 3)
(8:20:22 PM)
regoarrarr: what were your thoughts on how to make up the beaker differences, if at all?
(8:21:04 PM)
Krill: 1) I envisage NAPs between everyone in the alliance, at least at first. If it breaks down after the first tech trade due to geopolitical differences, nothing can be done about that
(8:21:36 PM)
ilios: 8 teams
(8:21:42 PM)
Krill: Luckily us three don't border each other, although I think because of hte lack of Korea on the map it would be wise if Eygpt and India agreed to not settle lands closer to the other
(8:21:45 PM)
ilios: that's going to be... unwieldy
(8:22:25 PM)
regoarrarr: but with less than 8, say 7, then the other 9 civs are all going to band together
(8:22:33 PM)
regoarrarr: (or however many there are on this map i forget)
(8:22:55 PM)
Krill: 2) I can't see any other techs to research, so anymore than 8 probably won't work, but I'm not averse to selling or trading techs outside the Alliance. Remember that I went off the handle because the UTA shut the door in my face, if you have to appease close neighbours then it's not up to me to say that you can't trade your tech to them
(8:23:11 PM)
regoarrarr: yeah i think the more the merrier really
(8:23:40 PM)
Krill: The problem is that until Currency is researched, more civs than 8 can't contribute to an alliance
(8:24:26 PM)
ilios: Krill you're still down BW, Med, PH, pottery and writing
(8:24:34 PM)
Krill: So as far as I am concerned, I'm happy to have more teams in, but it will be unweildy, and other teams may not want to enter an alliance if their closest neighbour that they want to invade is in.
(8:24:42 PM)
regoarrarr: understood
(8:24:50 PM)
regoarrarr: thoughts on 3) beaker difference
(8:24:51 PM)
regoarrarr: ?
(8:24:56 PM)
Darrell: Right...I think India would be in as long as we reach critical mass.
(8:25:23 PM)
Krill: I'm down mining (due in 5) Ph and Writing. I already have Polytheism. I'm not going to research either Pottery or Mining,. Which segues into regoarrarrs point
(8:25:39 PM)
Krill: use ancient era techs to make up the difference
(8:25:55 PM)
Krill: for instance, we need someone to research Sailing
(8:26:01 PM)
Krill: someone to research Archery
(8:26:11 PM)
Krill: Someone to research Meditation
(8:26:16 PM)
Krill: Masonry
(8:26:25 PM)
Krill: It will never be perfect
(8:27:29 PM)
regoarrarr: well we've already queued up pottery and IW, so we could contribute those
(8:28:21 PM)
Krill: Well, the ancient era techs need to be worked out, for instance, India, do you have Wheel?
(8:28:28 PM)
ilios: yes
(8:28:30 PM)
Krill: When would you research Potttery?
(8:28:43 PM)
regoarrarr: we could have both of those by T62
(8:28:50 PM)
regoarrarr: (i think)
(8:29:06 PM)
Krill: Well, you can trade for pottery off someone else in that case
(8:29:11 PM)
Krill: and get IW out sooner
(8:29:19 PM)
regoarrarr: well we can't get anything out till T62, right?
(8:29:44 PM)
regoarrarr: i'll have to check our tech path / costs
(8:30:35 PM)
Krill: So, i heard earlier that india was pencilling in the agreement if we could drum, up enough teams
(8:30:41 PM)
Krill: DIM, what say you?
(8:30:41 PM)
regoarrarr: yes
(8:30:43 PM)
ilios: we're 8 turns from BW, which will increase after we found a cityand we'd have to go wheel
(8:31:11 PM)
ilios: to build chariots
(8:31:22 PM)
ilios: unless we have copper
(8:31:22 PM)
sooooo: krill, something like pottery is a critical tech and can't be delayed for tech-alliance purposes
(8:32:00 PM)
sooooo: i doubt we'll get any civs willing to delay critical cheap techs like that to research more expensive ones
(8:32:13 PM)
Krill: Usually I'd agree with you Sooooo, the only problem is that we are a total of 27 turns from trading. If you aren't researching Wheel right now, you are atleast 20 turns from Pottery
(8:32:28 PM)
Krill: so basically you are waiting 7 turns for cottages
(8:32:45 PM)
Krill: You want to spend 250 beakers on an extra 7 turns of cottaging?
(8:33:00 PM)
sooooo: hmm, it's an interesting point.
(8:33:10 PM)
ilios: yes
(8:33:20 PM)
Krill: This is why we can use the ancient era techs as trade.
(8:33:56 PM)
Krill: And why this alliance probably could pull far enough ahead in the first round of trading.
(8:34:02 PM)
Krill: even if it was 8v8
(8:34:15 PM)
Krill: Because Alphabet is incredibly expensive to tech
(8:34:37 PM)
ilios: i guess, DIM could go Archery, if we have copper
(8:34:53 PM)
Krill: We don;t need to decide the techs right now
(8:35:08 PM)
Krill: What I would suggest, is that we figure out who we want in the alliance
(8:35:19 PM)
Krill: and use C&D to figure out who has what tech already
(8:35:25 PM)
regoarrarr: yeah my thoughts were are tehre any civs that we've met that we definitely DO or DO NOT want in this alliance
(8:35:31 PM)
ilios: I suggest Ottomans
(8:35:39 PM)
ilios: we do not want France in the alliance
(8:35:40 PM)
Krill: Ottomans are a good first choice
(8:35:47 PM)
Krill: We al border them
(8:36:05 PM)
Krill: So that's one extra border secure
(8:36:05 PM)
regoarrarr: ruff (aztecs) has made explorations on a tech alliance
(8:36:15 PM)
ilios: with you?
(8:36:17 PM)
Krill: Ruff I'm a little tentative about
(8:36:22 PM)
regoarrarr: yeah - just generally speaking
(8:36:24 PM)
regoarrarr: why's that?
(8:36:31 PM)
Krill: Well, competing religions and all that
(8:36:42 PM)
Krill: I want Hinduism spread as far wide as possible to fund research
(8:36:42 PM)
ilios: you roleplaying now?
(8:36:49 PM)
Darrell: with an 8 team alliance there is alwasy going to be some tension, that seems like a pretty minor point.
(8:36:49 PM)
Krill: Call it roleplay
(8:37:25 PM)
ilios: yeah I wouldn't discount them for that
(8:37:28 PM)
sooooo: i support the inclusion of Ruff.
(8:37:49 PM)
ilios: that would make 5
(8:37:57 PM)
Darrell: Korea? Oh wait...
(8:38:11 PM)
ilios: Carthage is to Krill's east
(8:38:22 PM)
Krill: Well, I'm not saying it like I'm outright trying to veto it. I'm OK with having him in, it means you don;t have to focus on one extra front, but I would want to approach each team (excluding Ruff) and ask them to spread Hinduism to al of their cities, maybe make it it state religion if they want. I'm happy to gift missionaries to achieve that, for instance
(8:38:23 PM)
ilios: we could ask them
(8:38:23 PM)
Darrell: Carthage is who, and what leader?
(8:38:30 PM)
Krill: Carthage is Pacal
(8:38:42 PM)
Krill: Probably a good choice
(8:38:51 PM)
Darrell: yeah
(8:38:55 PM)
Krill: I agree that France is a team that I don;t want in it
(8:39:04 PM)
Krill: Dantski?
(8:39:09 PM)
sooooo: i'm sure you are Krill smile. but a little competition for religion doesn't hurt anyone does it? (well, except you)
(8:39:09 PM)
Krill: he is to your SW, India
(8:39:12 PM)
Darrell: I think any religion negotiations needs to be bilateral at this point. That said, we're happy to take a missionary smile
(8:39:30 PM)
ilios: dunno, i wasn't overwhelmed with his play in PB2
(8:39:33 PM)
sooooo: more competition for religions = better deals for the civs as a whole.
(8:39:38 PM)
regoarrarr: why is everyone against france?
(8:39:48 PM)
regoarrarr: we haven't met them
(8:39:48 PM)
ilios: we hate frogs
(8:39:51 PM)
sooooo: who is france?
(8:39:53 PM)
Darrell: Frenchmen can't be trusted, everyone knows that.
(8:39:53 PM)
regoarrarr: morgan
(8:39:55 PM)
ilios: Morgan
(8:39:59 PM)
Krill: Morgan/rash/DMOC
(8:40:02 PM)
Darrell: I say we conquer them and take their women, food and wine.
(8:40:09 PM)
ilios: I concur
(8:40:11 PM)
sooooo: I don't know them at all - I'm not against them
(8:40:13 PM)
Krill: Ditto
(8:40:23 PM)
Krill: They are arseholes
(8:40:33 PM)
ilios: believe me, major
(8:40:45 PM)
sooooo: blimey, ok I'll take your word for that
(8:41:21 PM)
ilios: we had just met them, and they were already trying to bully us into ceding land to them
(8:41:42 PM)
dazedroyalty: it's true!
(8:41:45 PM)
dazedroyalty: down with france!
(8:41:46 PM)
ilios: i had to threaten total war to have him back down
(8:42:29 PM)
regoarrarr: so we'd like to propose excluding sumeria
(8:42:41 PM)
ilios: is that exploit?
(8:42:43 PM)
Darrell: yes
(8:42:44 PM)
Krill: Yup
(8:42:49 PM)
Krill: I'm OK with that
(8:43:02 PM)
ilios: he french?
(8:43:02 PM)
Krill: Question.
(8:43:04 PM)
regoarrarr: maybe we should leave room for 1-2 civs
(8:43:09 PM)
regoarrarr: as we start meeting other folks?
(8:43:18 PM)
Krill: Do we want aggressive rome on our side?
(8:43:19 PM)
dazedroyalty: that's a good idea
(8:43:27 PM)
dazedroyalty: who is Rome?
(8:43:31 PM)
regoarrarr: SsS
(8:43:33 PM)
ilios: i don't think they'll concentrate on teching
(8:43:34 PM)
dazedroyalty: that seems to be a historically failed venture
(8:43:36 PM)
Krill: as a hypothetical, because I know that Agg rome is to the NW of Dantski
(8:43:47 PM)
Krill: Where is Exploit?
(8:44:26 PM)
regoarrarr: to our west
(8:44:29 PM)
ilios: west of india
(8:44:43 PM)
Krill: So...Bribe Rome into killing Sumeria?
(8:44:58 PM)
Darrell: Nah...let them do it on their own.
(8:45:05 PM)
Darrell: I don't see any need to bribe that into happening
(8:45:13 PM)
ilios: true that
(8:45:16 PM)
Krill: So, who are we up to already?
(8:45:28 PM)
ilios: if they manage to tech all the way to IW...
(8:45:43 PM)
Sunrise [sunrise089@gmail.com/gmail.DC25A684] entered the room.
(8:45:43 PM)
(8:45:46 PM)
Sunrise: hi
(8:45:50 PM)
ilios: hi there
(8:45:58 PM)
Krill: Hello sunrise
(8:46:09 PM)
dazedroyalty: hey!
(8:46:11 PM)
Sunrise: hi krill
(8:46:20 PM)
ilios: we're at India, HRE, Egypt, Ottomans
(8:46:29 PM)
ilios: Carthage, Aztec are a maybe
(8:46:30 PM)
Sunrise: who is the ottoman leader?
(8:46:33 PM)
Sunrise: (out-of-game)
(8:46:36 PM)
ilios: Zara
(8:46:40 PM)
Darrell: okay sunrise, so we've decided to delcare war on the french and take their women, wine and food.
(8:46:48 PM)
Krill: as hoc, pegasus, warriorknight...
(8:46:51 PM)
Krill: someone else?
(8:46:53 PM)
ilios: we might rape the wine
(8:47:04 PM)
Sunrise: ok, so no Ottomans in here though, right?
(8:47:08 PM)
ilios: nope
(8:47:12 PM)
Sunrise: gotcha
(8:47:25 PM)
sooooo left the room.
(8:47:25 PM)
(8:48:04 PM)
regoarrarr: hmmm sooooo leaves as sunrise joins - has anyone actually seen the 2 of them in the same place at the same time?
(8:48:18 PM)
Sunrise: trust me, I'm certainly not sooooo wink
(8:48:26 PM)
ilios: can you prove that?
(8:48:37 PM)
Sunrise: yeah, look at my in-game hall of fame
(8:48:56 PM)
Darrell: I've seen sunrise answer american football questions and sooooo answer cricket questions.
(8:48:57 PM)
ilios: dunno, might just be soooo in disguise...
(8:49:20 PM)
Darrell: if its a disguise, its damn good smile
(8:49:22 PM)
ilios: wow, both of those chinese to me$
(8:49:38 PM)
regoarrarr: ilios are you going to end turn in game?
(8:49:46 PM)
Krill: ok, so we have 4 definite, 3 maybes
(8:49:47 PM)
ilios: we last?
(8:49:57 PM)
regoarrarr: aztecs too but dreylin said he'd play if he was last
(8:49:57 PM)
Krill: TMIT still to play
(8:49:58 PM)
Darrell: and 2 nos
(8:50:37 PM)
Krill: Sumeria and France
(8:50:55 PM)
Darrell: got to run myself...thanks for putting this together krill i agree a strong tech alliance will be a major key to this game.
(8:50:57 PM)
ilios: has india met the civs to their north eyet?
(8:51:01 PM)
Krill: I tjhink we need to expand it beyond that for sure, even if we add in the 3 maybes
(8:51:02 PM)
regoarrarr: no we're heading that way
(8:51:07 PM)
regoarrarr: agreeed
(8:51:13 PM)
Darrell left the room.
(8:51:13 PM)
(8:51:18 PM)
regoarrarr: it would be nice to add the civ to our north if they aren't jerks
(8:51:19 PM)
Krill: In which case the maybes have to be yesses?
(8:51:32 PM)
ilios: i think we can accept dantski
(8:51:48 PM)
ilios: we'd have to meet up with carthage to check with them
(8:51:57 PM)
Krill: I agree about the northern civs fwiw. We still aren't at half way with what we have agreed.
(8:52:02 PM)
regoarrarr: where is carthage located?
(8:52:13 PM)
ilios: east of Krill
(8:52:17 PM)
Krill: To my east.
(8:52:20 PM)
regoarrarr: i thought you guys were east of krill?
(8:52:21 PM)
ilios: SE of Ottomants
(8:52:26 PM)
ilios: SW of us
(8:52:29 PM)
Krill: I'll have a warrior out soon to contact them
(8:52:50 PM)
Krill: I think Gaskin is going to head out to Ruff and the Ottomans
(8:53:49 PM)
regoarrarr: where's france?
(8:53:54 PM)
ilios: SE of us
(8:53:59 PM)
regoarrarr: west of krill?
(8:54:04 PM)
Krill: Yeah
(8:54:12 PM)
ilios: east of krill
(8:54:19 PM)
Krill: Carthage is east
(8:54:20 PM)
regoarrarr: i thought carthage was east of krill?
(8:54:22 PM)
Krill: France is west
(8:54:24 PM)
regoarrarr: ok
(8:54:38 PM)
ilios: Krill --- Carthage --- France
(8:55:05 PM)
regoarrarr: i thought france - krill - carthage
(8:55:10 PM)
regoarrarr: (though in a sense it wraps, right)?
(8:55:15 PM)
ilios: yes
(8:55:20 PM)
ilios: both ways
(8:55:27 PM)
Krill: Probably someone else between Carthage and France though
(8:55:33 PM)
regoarrarr: i guess it's a matter of how many civs are in a "row"
(8:55:46 PM)
ilios: which is why the upkeep costs are so high
(8:55:47 PM)
Krill: 4 or 5.
(8:55:56 PM)
ilios: yes
(8:56:04 PM)
regoarrarr: so ottomans are NW of carthage?
(8:56:08 PM)
regoarrarr: are they the "mystery" civ?
(8:56:14 PM)
Krill: 3 wouldn't work, 6 would mean some have to be offset, like Sumeria and Portugal
(8:56:23 PM)
ilios: yes
(8:56:41 PM)
ilios: no
(8:56:46 PM)
ilios: what you mean dan?
(8:56:56 PM)
regoarrarr: well you told us that yo uhad met someone that didn't want to say who they were
(8:57:11 PM)
ilios: oh yeah
(8:57:12 PM)
regoarrarr: so i was questioning if that was the ottomans
(8:57:15 PM)
ilios: that was ottomans
(8:57:17 PM)
regoarrarr: ok
(8:57:19 PM)
ilios: they're shy..
(8:57:32 PM)
regoarrarr: i guess
(8:57:53 PM)
Sunrise: ok, caught up
(8:57:57 PM)
regoarrarr: so has anyone met mali, maya, england, inca or babylon?
(8:58:03 PM)
Sunrise: so how many civs are we collectively aware of?
(8:58:03 PM)
ilios: no
(8:58:08 PM)
Krill: No
(8:58:14 PM)
regoarrarr: i think those 5 are the ones that i haven't heard anyone mention
(8:58:22 PM)
ilios: bout 10 i guess
(8:58:23 PM)
Krill: ofcourse, if we ask the maybes/yesses, they might have met them
(8:58:37 PM)
Sunrise: the 3 of us, ottomans who we want it, probable aztecs and carthagenians, and then sumeria, france, and rome who we are doubtful on
(8:58:44 PM)
Sunrise: that's 9
(8:58:54 PM)
Sunrise: between us, have we met anyone else?
(8:58:55 PM)
regoarrarr: dantski / portugal also seems to be on the mabye
(8:58:55 PM)
Krill: Sumeria and France are out
(8:59:03 PM)
ilios: that's what he meant
(8:59:03 PM)
Krill: Vetoed by everyone
(8:59:05 PM)
Sunrise: ok, and portugal
(8:59:22 PM)
Sunrise: and dead korea
(8:59:38 PM)
ilios: dead korea gets no vote
(8:59:43 PM)
Sunrise: I will say, I know Dantski didnt play well in RBP2, but in the RB-MP game we played last week he played quite well
(8:59:50 PM)
Sunrise: no, just using dead korea to keep track
(8:59:50 PM)
Krill: He needs direction
(9:00:05 PM)
Krill: And he has a partner
(9:00:11 PM)
ilios: well, if you want we can include him
(9:00:26 PM)
regoarrarr: yeah i think it makes sense
(9:00:31 PM)
Krill: Well, I don;t know anything about Mukha, anyone met him before?
(9:00:34 PM)
Sunrise: well I share regoarrarr's desire to get to 9
(9:00:35 PM)
regoarrarr: no
(9:00:48 PM)
Sunrise: and 9 will be tough if we dont want rome or sumeria and yet they want to oppose each otehr
(9:01:15 PM)
Krill: Vultures and agg Preats...
(9:01:18 PM)
Sunrise: so i think aside from the people we explicitly don't want, we want to lean towards "yesses" for everyone else, considering the entire pool is only 9 right now wink
(9:01:39 PM)
regoarrarr: well while i agree with the sentiment, we also want to elave room for civs we haven't met yet
(9:01:47 PM)
Krill: I'd be hapy to include Rome and get him to keep xploit busy
(9:02:05 PM)
Sunrise: yeah, but we DO have room for outsiders, right?
(9:02:19 PM)
ilios: rome and india both go IW?
(9:02:24 PM)
Krill: Well, what techs do we want researched?
(9:02:33 PM)
ilios: Monarchy
(9:02:36 PM)
Krill: Maths
(9:02:45 PM)
Krill: Currency
(9:02:45 PM)
ilios: CoL
(9:02:48 PM)
Krill: HBR
(9:02:50 PM)
Krill: IW
(9:02:57 PM)
Krill: MC?
(9:02:57 PM)
regoarrarr: alpha
(9:02:58 PM)
ilios: MC
(9:03:04 PM)
regoarrarr: that's 8
(9:03:13 PM)
regoarrarr: calendar?
(9:03:15 PM)
regoarrarr: gold?
(9:03:17 PM)
Krill: So arguably Aesthetics?
(9:03:17 PM)
regoarrarr: troops?
(9:03:19 PM)
ilios: HBR
(9:03:29 PM)
ilios: workers
(9:03:32 PM)
Sunrise left the room.
(9:03:32 PM)
(9:03:40 PM)
Sunrise [sunrise089@gmail.com/gmail.DC25A684] entered the room.
(9:03:40 PM)
(9:03:57 PM)
Krill: Well, gold doesn't work until we have Currency
(9:04:12 PM)
ilios: so that's actually a priority
(9:04:17 PM)
regoarrarr: which we'll be researching right?
(9:04:28 PM)
Krill: Well, we have 8 techs down.
(9:04:41 PM)
Krill: that can be researched from teh turn after we get Alpha
(9:04:49 PM)
Krill: as I suspect I'll have to give writing away to people
(9:05:04 PM)
Krill: we have Aesthetics as a ninth tech.
(9:05:23 PM)
regoarrarr: so i think we have some flexibility
(9:05:44 PM)
Krill: Well, I think we have a few turns leeway, as both of you have current techs to finish
(9:05:55 PM)
ilios: question
(9:06:03 PM)
Krill: shoot
(9:06:33 PM)
ilios: do we still have the opportunity to research TW after BW?
(9:07:03 PM)
ilios: or should we concentrate straight on another tech?
(9:07:53 PM)
Krill: As far as I am concerned, My techs are locked in place. We haven't decided what we, as a trio, would like each individual civ to research, so while nothing is certain it is porbably best to not expect to research any tech next
(9:08:37 PM)
ilios: ok we're about to found near gold, so we should pick up research
(9:08:49 PM)
Krill: I'd like one person to try and have IW done for when alpha is finished
(9:08:57 PM)
Krill: just so we can all hook up our silvers
(9:09:17 PM)
Krill: That would then allow compass (although I don;t see much point in that just yet)
(9:09:45 PM)
ilios: Ottomans have theirs in normal forest, lucky bastards
(9:09:53 PM)
Krill: what!
(9:10:09 PM)
Krill: Sullla make another mistake with resources?
(9:10:11 PM)
ilios: hehe I knew he would freak out wink
(9:10:18 PM)
Krill: bastard
(9:10:20 PM)
Krill: tongue
(9:10:34 PM)
dazedroyalty: "another" mistake? what was the firsT?
(9:11:07 PM)
Krill: I'm thinking of sunrise with irrigated corn in PB1, and him royally fucking someone in the arse in the CFC MTDG
(9:11:27 PM)
Krill: plains hill sheep and clams, everyone else got fish and irrigated corn
(9:11:32 PM)
ilios: Dazed, can you remember the screenie Ottomans sent us?
(9:11:34 PM)
Krill: *irrigated wheat
(9:11:51 PM)
Krill: but that is an aside...
(9:12:00 PM)
dazedroyalty: yeah generally.
(9:12:04 PM)
Krill: TMIT logged in btw
(9:12:06 PM)
ilios: I'm not kidding I'm pretty sure it is on plains forest
(9:12:13 PM)
dazedroyalty: i can look at it now
(9:12:18 PM)
dazedroyalty: but i agree i think it's forest
(9:12:21 PM)
Krill: so DIM, you might end up in the naughty players book tongue
(9:12:23 PM)
ilios: ok i'll end turn, sorry, caught up here
(9:12:40 PM)
ilios: I like!
(9:13:38 PM)
Krill: So, how do we want to approach ottomans, Portugal, Aztecs?
(9:13:49 PM)
ilios: we'll approach Ottomans
(9:13:50 PM)
regoarrarr: we can talk with the aztecs
(9:13:50 PM)
Krill: nice catch
(9:13:56 PM)
dazedroyalty: it's definitely a plain forest, but not in their BFC
(9:13:59 PM)
Krill: *to Ilios on ending turn
(9:14:07 PM)
ilios: wink
(9:14:09 PM)
ilios: not last
(9:14:41 PM)
ilios: Ottomans' silver is not in BFC because they moved the settler
(9:15:07 PM)
ilios: Krill you'll contact Dantski?
(9:15:14 PM)
Krill: Can do
(9:15:46 PM)
ilios: we will ask Ottomans to have Carthage meet with us
(9:17:58 PM)
regoarrarr: anything else for now?
(9:18:22 PM)
ilios: yeah, could you ask Aztec if they have a unit to their east?
(9:18:45 PM)
ilios: with the sad demise of our scout we will need to approach them from the east
(9:20:06 PM)
regoarrarr: ok sent something
(9:20:24 PM)
Krill: I need exact movement details for my warrior to meet Ruff
(9:20:24 PM)
ilios: thanks
(9:20:36 PM)
regoarrarr: ruff's warrior has disappeared from our view
(9:20:45 PM)
Krill: and location of Ottomans relative to some landmark I can see
(9:22:10 PM)
ilios: just follow the river flowing out of "Ladies night"
(9:22:57 PM)
Krill: Cool, thanks
(9:23:20 PM)
ilios: first fork move south
(9:23:26 PM)
ilios: second fork move south again
(9:23:37 PM)
ilios: and keep following
(9:23:56 PM)
ilios: will take a while though
(9:24:29 PM)
ilios: ok if we have nothing else to discuss I'm off to bed
(9:25:18 PM)
ilios: take care everyone
(9:25:23 PM)
ilios left the room.
