Yes, I was thinking along those lines, but not specifically of CoL. It just occurred to me that if you do miss any religions, it would seem to be better if they fell to Ruff than to a third party.

Chat with Ilios/Sunrise explaining the situation.
Quote:(7:55:36 PM) Krill: Hey guys, vboth of you here?
(7:55:38 PM) sunrise: hi
(7:55:43 PM) Ilios: hi ther
(7:55:45 PM) sunrise: yeah, but not for too long krill
(7:55:53 PM) Krill: no problem, this was just a quick heads up
(7:56:09 PM) Krill: Portugal "Aren't sure" about wanting Rome in the alliance
(7:56:13 PM) Ilios: hehe
(7:56:24 PM) Krill: I've not been harsh or anything
(7:56:31 PM) Krill: but I have said that it would help them
(7:56:39 PM) Krill: because none of us can help them defend against Rome
(7:57:11 PM) Krill: Is there anything you think I should say, to maybe make them "want" Rome as allies?
(7:57:15 PM) Krill: oh
(7:57:33 PM) Ilios: do we want Rome?
(7:57:34 PM) Krill: and Rome also moved a warrior along hte diagonal to attack Portugals city if it was empty, but it wasn't.
(7:57:45 PM) sunrise: hmm
(7:57:48 PM) Krill: I figure we probably should have them
(7:58:11 PM) sunrise: again, i think the main point is that the RBP1 lesson still stands- it's easy to think "everyone won't ally against us" but then they do
(7:58:11 PM) Krill: without them the India/Portugal/HRE border isn;t exactly all that strong.
(7:58:39 PM) sunrise: RBPBEM1 too - soooo thinking "I dont have to ally with Ruff because he will have natural tension with Dreylin"
(7:58:59 PM) Krill: OK, I need to run to dinner, but I'll leave this open and read it when I get back
(7:59:02 PM) sunrise: so portugal just has to be prepared for an agg/rome allied against them rather than with them, OMHO
(7:59:35 PM) sunrise: well i have to run too, just came online briefly, so sorry
(7:59:54 PM) Ilios: well yeah you've got to end your turn
(8:00:08 PM) sunrise: we'll work on it
(8:00:10 PM) sunrise:
(8:01:42 PM) Ilios: well Krill, we'll have to continue this later
(8:02:20 PM) Ilios: but I'd need to check how the alliance would look like geographically with Romeincluded
(8:02:25 PM) Ilios: later

From Portugal:
Quote:Hi Krill,
Just to let you know Rome's warrior is currently 2NW of our second city (6N3W of capital). Rome would like contact with anyone we know so if you could pass that information along to India and HRE that would help. Also, if you could relay India and HRE's nearest scout location to us that would also be appreciated.
Regards,
Mukha & Dantski
To HRE/India (inc map of area between Portugal and India)
Quote:Hi guys,
just forwarding this message to you, along with a screenshot of the relevant map so that you can figure out a quick way to meet Rome. I've told Portugal to tell Rome to move 99633633 (keypad, you can work out the direction for yourselves )
Krill
To Portugal:
Quote:Hi guys,
This is the exact direction Rome needs to move to meet India: 99633633. It is the safest and quickest route I can plot for them. They may meet India faster if they run into a scouting warrior, but I'm not sure of that. I don't know where the HRE units are, so can't help there. I have informed both sides of what Rome is trying to do.

Hmm. My sim might be broken. Some of the AI might have teched PH and I got a tech bonus from it. Oh well, should be interesting to watch...
Sheep is hooked at DM, warrior due in two, growth in 3. It's coming along nicely.
Moved Gaskin SE and met a lion. Well, this should be interesting, probably not got all that great odds, so decent chance that he dies now. If that happens I'm going to have quite a sense of schadenfreude about the Aztecs not putting more effort in to meet me, but it does mean I need to send a new warrior to Ottomans.
Demographics. Not too shabby, joint first in GNP (at -3 gpt) and crop yield, in the next 3 turns that should increase due to the extra population I'm getting. MFG is a bit of a downer, but only because so many teams are at size 4 working a few mined hills. Hopefully they are far behind on their second settlers and I can decrease some of that lead right now. Also, Indian demographics should come online next turn.

I think this might have to be the last world map that I post here, it is getting just too big, 3.2 MB now at 100% in JPEG. It's pretty big, I'm not sure if you could even fit it on a dual moniter set up, but enjoy it anyway...

The image I see is just 3.2 kB and 160x110 pixels. Did you post the link to a photobucket preview, maybe?
I have to run.

I forgot to edit the link. Now it links to the big picture instead of the thumbnail...sorry about that.

Gaskin won, at 0.5 health, with an upgrade coming next turn (woody 1). Healing should take 4 turns, maybe five depending on circumstances.
