Hmm, do you think that England is running a Farmer's Gambit? On Emperor . . . could be dangerous. I'm not terribly familiar with the economic model in a multiplayer game; in Single Player, I would often try to expand to the point of economic collapse and rebuild at that point, but is that too risky in MP? We've made some friends now, so we could probably afford to do some aggressive settling.

It is dangerous - but its working right now. I would rather play a cautious game and see what we can get away with in the more 'challenging' moments

They have appeared south of Genesis with a DOUBLE PROMOTED QUECHUA. Luckily it is Combat 1 and Woodsman 1 like our dearly departed Novice, so its not as fearsome as it could be.
All our scouts live, though are both confronted by nearby lions. Our eastern scout on 1 helath is now healing on a forested hill, and Wyrmsbane, our Woodsman 1 northern scout, is fortified in a forest directly next to a lion.
Now we also received this, more worrying message from Mali.
The first Barbarian warrior has appeared! Not miles away from Exodus.

That's not horrific news. We need to get Banshee fortifying in Exodus for sure though.
We will soon have a stream of promoted axemen for safety. When the worker completes the road between cities, i think he should move up to cottage the floodplain for exodus- there isn't a major hurry though as it needs to be size 3 to use it. Other alternative would be moving to chop one of the riverside grasslan at Genesis and build a cottage in it's place as Genesis will grow into this faster. Plako ultimately needs to be brought to fogbust Leviticus but don't risk his safety. For now, we really need him.
I'll try write a basic hello to team jank tonight.
Key things we want to find out:
- who have they met?
- where are they based?
- have they got trading deals set-up already?
- probly grab a NAP also seeing as it benefits us a lot more than it does them. I'll try build this up a bit by telling them we're in the process of getting a military prescence but to show we have no intentions towards them we will ask if they want a NAP. That way we come off strong rather than looking scared of their Quechua (which in reality i am right now as our defences are minimal!)
We can discuss contacts with them. If the chats go positively and they would likely be interested in future cooperation in regards to trading, i'll direct them to mali/byz/england. If they're south of Genesis it would strike me that they're probly our direct southern neighbour from accross the desert.

Actually, on second thought- cottage the floodplain with the roading worker (T-Hawk?), and work that tile next with Exodus once it's completed. This will allow us to grow into the copper MUCH faster.

Couple of questions, is it the case that barb warriors cannot enter our cultural borders until we found Leviticus?
I take it that when Leviticus settler is built, we will be revolting to slavery?

I'm honetly not sure. I *think* it's when more than a certain %age of civ's have their second city. In which case he can enter np. Any lurkers can advise?

Yes before the city is founded whilst settler is on his merry way.

We are now at 100% research for Writing - it will take 10 turns and we will still have a bit of gold to play with at current rates.
Wyrmsbane survived at 0.6 health and Plako was not attacked and is now at 1.2 health.
Moved workers to road the forest next to marble, road the pigs for extra health bonus and start a chop on one of the riverside forests to go into whatever is after the settler.

Seen as everyone else has been absent a little while, I have sent responses to Mali, Byzantium and Team JANK.
The main content of all was to basically explain that I am alone right now and will not commit to anything concrete until you return and give your assent (Byzantium & Mali)
For Team JANK, basically a polite hello and an explanation of our lateness.
Hopefully Ky will return soon and can handle the diplomacy better than me. Though I don't think I'm that bad, I have lots of diplo to do with PB1 atm too.
