I'm curious - has the diplomacy played out the way you planned it? I was never clear on exactly what your plans were - but you mentioned trading Alphabet around to everyone, using that as a tool for breaking up large tech alliances, and demanding that everyone spread your religion.
BTW - what are the plans for Taoism?

Sorry for the dealy...been dealing with PBEM2 and the alliance split.
First of all pissed at portugal.
More importantly, I am going to everything I can to stop India from acting with the typical holier than thou attitude of regoarrarr. But it won;t be all guns blazing...delegating that to England, Babylon and Mali.
Philo gets bulbed by England, they get Taoism. I can't get it, rather a close ally gets the religion than anyone else.
Currently building missionaries, Ottomans and Carthage have it in 1 of their cities, Maya will be receiving one shortly, but after that...considering spreading it to the rest of my cities and using Theo, now that the alliance shift is going along weird lines.

Got CoL, Confu landed in...Sto Lat, so I have a double Jew and Confu holy city, blah. Whatever, spread hinduism a bit, slave out a settler for city 5 (iron/wines/corn), convert to theo, and start making C1 WC without barracks...C2 WC with.
SPI is fun, when you beeline the proper civics. Shoul shortly have HR, Vassalage, Bureau, slavery, Serfdom, CS, OR Theo and Pacifism to choose from. I can do anything from slave a highly promoted army, to pushing out a GA to bomb someone with. Should be entertaining to see other people figure out what I'm going to do.
Just need to get on top of the crop yield chart now...

Will do...I've had to expand along a line, and not in a blob, to grab food resources. The fact that the entire SE of my capital has no food resources, and has my only copper, is quite annoying. If I'd have gotten rushed, that would have been game breakingly bad.

Not sure if I've told anyone this, but I'm relatively bored with this game atm, and quite happy to keep it at the current pace of a turn a day. It's fun and all, and don't want it to stop, but the high maintence and tech costs are starting to annoy people IMO. Right now it feels like I'm playing against the barbs, and not other players, which isn't what an MP game should be about.
I'm spreading religion to alll of my cities, should be done soon (assuming I don't get unlucky due to present religions). AP should have remaining 4 forests chopped into it in 4 turns, and slave overflow meaning that it has like 20 hammers to go in about 4 turns, then I can revolt to Theo whenever I want and start getting out guerilla 2 archers and sentry WC to act as pickets to Byz and India. Won't stop a HA attack, but it forces it come at me via Ottomans, and I can concentrate my forces there, as well as having Carthage ready to help me fend off a joint attack (then we go spare and take out Ottomans). Also get England to position their army between themselves and Carthage, so they can open a second front against Ottomans to keep them honest.
Planning on getting 5th city in 2 turns, and would love to plant another, but I reckon this one is going to crash my economy. Still planting cottages at Sto Lat and AM...I have a grand total of 3 planted, and only 2 worked. Should improve though as I grow AM to the happy cap and leave it on all of the cottages, and then revolt to Bureau (maybe).
Oh, and probably going to get a 10XP WC shortly from all of the barbs that are hanging around.
Beware the map, it is pretty big.

Isuppose a comparrison to RB PBEM2 is in order. In that game, it's I could do this, or that, plant a city there, or here...the game is full of options. This game though...very very few choices. Dot map was decided from turn 0, for instance.

Funny then, that this map was carefully hand-designed, but the PBEM 2 map was left with very minimal edits. You like map scripts better than human mapmakers?

Actually no, I prefer competent map makers, then the map generator with an overseer (RB PBEM2...), and then map makers in general. I suppose I just don't like how Sullla designs maps - but I agree with alot of his comments on the Poly DG map, that was horrendous. The map maker needs to make sure each team isn't screwed on food and strat resources. I don't think Sullla ever does the former except at the capital, and I've heard complaints from alot of teams about the latter here (England with copper, my copper has no food, Portugal and horse, Koreas' copper didn't look good).
I suppose I just want maps that have too much food like RBPB2, and have an intriguing land layout. A 17 player game would have needed a hand crafted map, to the extent of messing around in the mapscript python.
