Yeah there's a lot of reliance on tech growth to be able to produce those resources yourself as well. I have colonies dedicated to producing those resources. I find the new system a lot of fun.

Do you also find that biology research is easier to get than physics or engineering ? Or is that just me ?

The culture workers from the monument and heritage site that produce unity also produce society (biology) research. So you should be producing more on average.

Yeah. I don't hate it but I used to try and balance my research output, which I can't do anymore

I beat the story mode of Bust-a-Move 4 (i.e. Puzzle Bobble) today, and unlocked the tarot card ending! Here's what the game generated:
1. Past Justice Upright
There was an apple of discord between you and him/her. Things were settled by your faith. Virtuous behavior was the only cure.
2. Present Tower Upright
A sudden accident will cause the end of your love. All your efforts are going to end in failure. But don't escape from reality.
3. Near Future Hanged Man Upright
Though you are devoted, you doubt that your devotion will be rewarded. Even though it seems impossible that your wish will be granted, you must not stop making an effort.
4. Goal or Purpose The Hermit Upright
You were hesitating to confess your love. You were a little bit too deliberate. But it was a good choice to wait until you know him/her better.
5. You As Others See The Moon Upright
You doubted his/her love and you could think only of bad things. You did not know that love was variable as the moon waxed and waned.
6. You As You See The Wheel of Fortune Upright
Incredibly things were getting better. The great power of fortune lead to happiness. (The first sentence was not a typo!)
7. Outcome
You were perfect in every way. Environment was good and happiness was brought to you one after another. (What program was Taito using to write the English dialogue?)
You wouldn't expect to see this in a Bubble Bobble spinoff of all things! Hopefully y'all will appreciate the bad PS1 era translation.

His video on SWTOR described the game as much more like a story-focused single-player RPG. And according to him, the story is really good, but the game is also probably not long for this world. So I wanted to give it a try.
He especially praised the Sith Warrior and Imperial Agent storylines, but I like being a (sort of) good guy and went with the Smuggler class. And yeah, the story is really fun! Still not sure if I really want to slog through miles of WOW knockoff to get to the Bioware writing, though.
The story really is pretty good. The hack and slash is not overly onerous, and there isn't that much of it at the end of the day, IIRC. I had some fun with it as a means of mindless kicking back after work at home.

On the list of cutesy puzzle games on the PS1 involving tarot, I say Magical Drop ranks ahead of that.

I've actually uninstalled it by now. I basically could win all battles with the exact same strategy. The last straw was that there are no skill trees or anything like that. According to the wiki, they used to have WOW style skill trees, one for each class and two additional ones when you pick an advanced class. But now, when you reach level 10, you just pick a specialization (corresponding to one of the old skill trees) and get a linear progression of new abilities when you level up. Why? How does that make the game better?
The story is really good, but I don't want to play a game only for the story when I have unread books lying around.

How bizarre. Here is the explanation: http://www.swtor.com/blog/developer-upda...isciplines
Never played with that new system.

I recently picked up Fell Seal on Steam. I think it originated as a Kickstarter, and claims to be a spiritual successor to Final Fantasy Tactics. I can't comment on the verisimilitude, having never played FF:T, but so far it's a fun turn-based wargame which emphasizes developing a pool of heavily customizable warriors for use in a variety of squad-based combat scenarios.
