How do you get the number of players that know a tech in actuality? IIrc, in Civforum PB88 there was a case of a player trying to figure out the number of people knowing a tech by comparing beakers and couldn't do it because he did not have enough beakers to get finegrained enough data (game having 50 players).

Yes, you do it by comparing beakers. It's possible that in some cases you cannot get the exact number that way and I guess the mod would be giving extra information in that case. We do not play games with 50 players so this was likely not a consideration.

Correct the 50 players were not a consideration. I also trust in the judgement of one of our best players here (The Black Sword). For the veterean players this will be a great convience and for the noobs it will help them more then the vets. Biggest reason of course is the convience.

A solution to not have the mod provide extra information is to show a range (e.g. 20-23 players) in cases when it can't be derived more accurately. But that sounds like a lot of extra logic for minimal to no gain.

As for the feature itself, I am highly in favor of what I'll call C&D normalization and reduction of work in that aspect. C&D is a chore that people do in order to maximize their competitiveness, I highly doubt it is fun or interesting for anyone.

Is there a way to display the accumulated culture on a tile with the mod? I know you can see the values in debug mode and its almost ridiculous that they're not available for the player.
