Here is the quote from Munro...
Munro Wrote:Should get another great person maybe a turn after that from my NE city which I'm hoping to use to trigger another golden age, and switch into Feudalism. Along with Pentagon, West Point, Theocracy, aggressive trait and 2 settled GGs, that will give me Combat 5 mech. inf. right out of the gate - or, more cruicially, commando. This opens up all kinds of diabolical opportunities for burning things...

Ah, it was a Mech Inf and he's AGG, that makes sense! 4 promos is 17 XPs, much easier to achieve.

Amazing move by Munro... I'm surprised Rego just had a single longbow in the capital though, since he did explicitly mention the possibility of commandos. I guess he didn't anticipate the very clever "capture a beachhead and move from there" approach.

I love the fact the only reason it worked was that Munro is Agg. Not so much of a weak trait, now, is it? :D

Massed Commandos in modern warfare is such a huge advantage. Agg is fairly high on my list for Pitboss games.
As is being very careful where I build my railroads, and leaving excess workers and old chariots standing around on chokepoints (to force commandos to use their attacks up).

Rego made a silly counting error; thinking that his cap. was 11 titles away. If he counted correctly he would have razed his rails and Munro's plan would have not worked. If you relax to early you lose.

AFAIK you can'r pillage your own rails. OTOH once the spaceship was completed sunrise could have 'declared' and freed rego's land from rails/roads at least around the capital.

Well, it looks like Munro wins because the AP did not work out. There is not much say. Rego, after getting a winning postion, just zoned-out due to the amount of energy he spent. Munro, out of reflex, just built the Spaceship and then saw that he could win if he razed that city...
You can afford to zone-out when your a "3" but not if your in a "2" if your are in a 3 vs. 2!

I don't think you can afford to zone out at all, when it comes to squeaky bum time.
