You know Rome was not in the first round of Civs? When I saw that I figured someone would get lucky on that second round.
So TBS or Mack?

So TBS or Mack? Neither. Nobody wins this one, we agree to a draw after being emotionally and mentally wrung out over the eons, but both are in the draw.
Rome is very very good for this game, if you are kind and surround me with food I promise to invade lots. Don't promise to use Praets though, horse archers are still better for conquest.

Hard to argue with what you wrote. Tech rate will be slow, costs will be high, civforum guys have experience at these kind of settings.

Well, all such things are relative I guess. You're a FFH2-er, so I guess it'll still feel like lightning to you.

Something never before seen in an RB game. Don't you all love the OP combination of ORGANIZED and PROTECTIVE? Fear me. First, though, need to move like most of us did.

Not a terrible player, but my win/loss ratio with Commodore in the game isn’t something to fill me with hope, frankly I think the guy is just kind of old and tired at this point.
What's your win/loss without Commodore?

Too many threads to read. Can't engage...

What's your win/loss without Commodore? 0/1, but it was Seven so I feel okay.
Welcome to the Empire of the Cryptids:
Sasquatch or Bigfoot are some of the most famous cryptids, attested to by almost every Native American tribe, seen by thousands of witnesses yearly, leaving track casts, audio records, and some video/pictures. FOIA requests on the subject yielded results until fairly recently. Folkloric "hairy wild men" tales are as old as human history and appear on every inhabited continent, with sasquatch being pretty much the classic description of these beings of folklore. There are also numerous overlaps between reported sasquatch behaviors and fairy lore. Physical evidence, despite the vast number of encounters and even some shooting reports, remains nill. What's a sasquatch? I have no idea, and neither do you.

Looking fair enough thus far. Given a fairly new mapmaker, I expect these will be 5 5-person continents (maybe mirrored), in the standard blob-and-spoke ring form. This jungle to the east looks like a borderland. I'm either on the NNW of a ring facing outward, or SSE facing into an inland sea. My bet is outer-facing.
Jungled gems plus cows on a hilly expansion spot is cool. I really don't want to settle my first 4-5 cities with a need for border pops; Sasquatch needs to be the bulk of my cultural output for the early game. Lots of coasts, so I am aware of Great Lighthouse as an outside possibility. Plenty of interesting choices ahead.
Any questions?
