Random question to ask you guys: If you were one of the other 5 teams that ended up attacking the Killer Angels, what would you do?

Congrats on the pretty slick moves. Seems like warring isn't even relaly a challenge for you. Have fun on your vacation
Well two of the wars that the Killer Angels have taken part in were defensive wars versus an inept enemy, and the other two were offensive wars versus an enemy that wanted to give up.
Enemies who behave worse than the Templars, forget PAL. But hey, these games take lots of time, so you can't really fault anyone for basically giving up the game if they want to lose. I wanted to ask Sullla/Speaker that question. Personally I would just tell everybody "nah, let's expand and develop our empires before conceiving such an idea, ESPECIALLY WITHOUT SIEGE WEAPONS." If it was 5vs1 against you guys when you were in the renaissance and we were in the middle ages, however, I would willingly accept, so long as each side is willing to train an adequate number of troops. So IMO it's not that the idea of ganging up on you was bad, it's just that doing so without siege weapons was kinda stupid. As Kylearan has shown, a lot of siege weapons can really help the side with inferior technology.

Dr. Nomadic, please stop trying to restart arguments in this thread that should be posted in the lurker thread.
Failure to do so means I'll get thoroughly pissed off and there is a good chance you won't be posting in this thread again. Go read these threads please: Lurker rules thread Lurker thread
So it was nice of Nakor/DMOC to pause the game for us... but they also stupidly sent us a diplo message at the same time, resulting in the obvious diplo screen pause issue that plagues every Pitboss game. Worst of all, it was a completely pointless and frivolous diplo message asking for a cease fire, which could have and should have been done through regular email diplomacy. Yeesh.
Normally I can get past this issue (you have a split second to hit the Pause key before the diplo interface loads), but I couldn't in three tries tonight and I'm not willing to spend any more time on this. Speaker, you're going to have to deal with this one while I'm away! As far as their cease-fire offer goes...
Well, I also tried three times, with no luck. What a stupid, ridiculous thing for them to do, considering they knew the game was going to be paused. Once I finish our turn, I'd like to send back an offer for peace where we get all of their cities.

Two pictures from the current turn (225):
Our island conquest continues with the loss of just 1 unit. Over the next two turns, we should be able to blockade most of the next island, which is a good deal bigger and has 3 cities on it. Sullla and I discussed whether we should keep these cities or just raze them. The bottom line was that if we kept them, we'd give Nakor something else to think about because he'd want to get them back, so it would force him to expend more troops over here. Here's the current situation around Gao. We should be able to recapture it next turn. I'm not sure if it would be better to keep or raze it though. We'll see what Dantski wants to do I guess. Or maybe not. The following email was sent to everyone in the game: Nakor Wrote:Hi guys, "There is no wealth like knowledge. No poverty like ignorance." |
