Super simple click games for kids

Any recommendations? Found some in top google results, but figure if anyone has favorites?

I'll also take typing game recommendations for a year from now.

Edit: kids are almost 5 and 3.5 that would be playing. Other is almost 2 but too young.

What exactly do you want to achieve with those games? Should they learn how to use a mouse? Same for typing, is the goal to learn to use the keyboard? Should they learn to be precise or mad clicking? Or just simple fun and distraction?

Oregon Trail.

It sounds like some of the Humongous Entertainment games (Putt Putt, Pajama Sam, Freddi Fish, Fatty Bear, Spy Fox) are being re-released for consoles. My kids loved those games many years ago. They also enjoyed Busytown.

Edit: also, it looks like *all* of the games are available on Steam.

I loved the Freddi Fish and Putt Putt games when I was about your eldest's age (I had one of each; 'Putt Putt Saves the Zoo' and I'm not sure which Freddi Fish game). I used to play them over and over again like kids do, even though I'm pretty sure I had very little idea how to actually progress. Lots of flashy colours and 'fun' excited voice-overs that parents are sure to love. wink So I would definitely agree with Dave in recommending those. I think they're more of a fun distraction than a learning game, if that matters (unless your kids are smarter than I was and can solve the puzzles).

Oregon Trail could be great, but maybe for a slightly older audience?

Exact same for lemmings, although maybe the 5 year old would be able to do that one? Not sure.
Past Games: PB51  -  PB55  -  PB56  -  PB58 (Tarkeel's game)  - PB59  -  PB60  -  PB64  -  PB66  -  PB68 (Miguelito's game)     Current Games: None (for now...)

Scribblenauts together with the parent could be fun.

+1

I have all the games on Steam and my daughter has played them starting when she was 4-5.

This is not really what is being asked by this thread, but I have to point out that Mario Kart on Switch is sort of unbelievable as to how good its assists are for young kids. There are optional assists that both 1) constantly propel you forward and 2) keep you on the track and faced forward at all times. It's not playing the game for you, but it's a lot like putting the bumpers up bowling. In addition, you can set the AI to "Easy" which slows them down further in addition to the slowest 50cc setting. The net result is my 4 year old is able to play and do fairly well some times. Some tracks this works better than others, but it's really amazing how well this works. Also the little joycon with the plastic holder is the perfect size for his small hands. Highly recommended if you own a Switch and have a young kid you want to learn how to use a controller.
