[PB75 Mjmd] Call to Power

I get that Ginger is probably declaring war this turn on Dreylin, but Dreylin played plenty early yesterday for Ginger to play a night turn. I miss PB63 Ginger. I once tried to get first in turn order and couldn't because he had logged in 5 minutes after roll (and that was pretty constant the whole game).

And NO COMMENTS on that beautiful deck list containing such classic powerhouse cards like verdant haven, prophetic prism, and mind rot?

I wasn't playing much around that time, but if it weren't for the mana base, I would've thought that was a limited deck smile

Fire & Flame - not really appropriate for in game situation, but vaguely trying to show more of PB66 story even though I've jumped around a bit.

PB66 Former Jack capital - obviously great city. The ONE time I've ever used caste pacifism (for cereal mills merchant because I failed a GP % roll and also wanted the GA). Eventually became my capital. Also, like most high food cities produced tactical nukes.

Here it is at end of quick Jack war. Some cities don't have new names yet.

With SD out of GA I'm second in both GNP and production. IGNORE any culture in the GNP or that I don't have whip production. I'm ALMOST 3rd in food!

SD sent me a him war with Nauf and me war with literally everyone else. I take that as "I know you know that Nauf is coming after me, but you should do something else". I'm also pretty sure he pillaged a road he built into Gav. I'm therefore withdrawing most of my troops from Gav land so I don't have to pay upkeep on them. I have a wheat and gold to improve, but then I would be open to sniping SDs northeast city of Candy Corn. Nauf hasn't sent me a signal on WHEN and I haven't been asking yet. TECHNICALLY if I wanted to I could also help Gav retake his cities starting down south. Not sure how strong his culture was, but probably could roll back a few. If this was diplo I would try to negotiate this in return for trading his shrine city to me, but alas. I mean I could try to communicate with AI diplo, but its pretty likely Gav's main take away is that I want his shrine city and he probably wouldn't fully understand the rest.

So ya for now this area of the world is pretty static mostly just need to follow my copious worker and tile notes. I'll probably double check them tonight / redo if turn rolls. I have the next builds in cities already. If things look violent towards me obviously the econ builds might need to be changed. I made decision with SD not pushing forward to start up a few more banks.

I shrined Judiasm this turn finally.

Reading PB65 Cornflakes made a comment that I was playing to win and not just to bring him down. This is what I do if I can. In that spirit Sistine is finishing next turn. I have no clue how serious I am about culture, but I'm starting down the path. I also have a note to start my first synagogue next turn. I have no clue how many of these I have the spare production to build. I have to balance regular economy, with culture, and of course keeping the 2nd least powerful army.

I'm curious what Greenline will do. Will he take the Mjmd path and reinforce Dreylin? IE does he really want to border Ginger? (see that power, I wouldn't). Is he just going for snipes later in the war? Is he actually going to help Ginger? He has HORSE ARCHERS streaming east and that is where I saw his cats going. I'm keeping my scout floating between border city and capital just in case it was all a fake out. Dreylin at least has the power to keep Ginger going forward slowly. IE one single slow moving stack.

BTW for whomever is subbing forgive the Stable built in JohnPaulJohns. I thought it made sense when I thought SD would ROLL through Gav, but now it just seems silly as JPJ has a ton of buildings in queue and with it being my 3rd culture city doesn't seem likely to build a ton of knights. Mind I wouldn't have gone for culture or better econ if SD had taken more of Gav.

Both SD and Ijub sent me messages to go to war with Greenline and then Ginger. SD also offered to help vs Ginger later. Now to be fair Nauf hasn't done that, but I did already promise Nauf. I also trust Nauf more.

I'm flattered they think so highly of me. My mighty army of 20 knights will surely overrun all those who oppose them!

But ya Greenline declared war on Dreylin in hope Dreylin gives him his empire? I'm going to end up in Greenline territory defending him from Ginger SIGH.

Great Lakes Song

PB66 solid middling commerce city. Evidently I didn't beat Tarkeel by much to it. Opened up two more city spots so +3 cities. Here is a lovely picture of all the lakes. Also note the gpt amount........  It was so bad I thought I would have to build research to currency. Turns out just an early GA would have been enough, but even having +5gpt was pretty good for me at the time so I was a little worried.

Ijub REALLY wants me to go to war with Greenline (he offered to convert to Judaism). I'm assuming this is to help Dreylin??? While sure Greenline  invading is 99% probably a stupid decision, there is the 1% chance Dreylin gives Greenline stuff instead of Ginger. And to be fair to Greenline its possible that 1% is his best chance to win. Its not what I would have done (/ did do this game), but still.

That being said the 99% it is stupid let me explain what happens if I invade Greenline. Ginger then takes over Greenline next. Shockingly the moment I invade Greenline would start whipping and I would get about 2-3 cities deep before having to retreat. This would drag both of us down and then Ginger wins even easier. IE I'm not sure taking whatever pressure off of Dreylin is worth not having both Greenline and I at full for AFTER Ginger takes over Dreylin.

And let me be clear I can't lose a lot of troops and that is important for my sub. I will be available via discord, but I will be invading SD next turn!!!! It would have been nice for Nauf to give me a countdown as a lot of my troops were NOT in position. I could wait, but I want to go improve that gold so its either wait until I improve gold or go now while workers are there.

So ya take a look with the scout first. If there is a lot of stuff (specifically pikes), just go improve gold and I will keep bringing up cats and go later. If there is nothing or near nothing road with workers (super sad I don't get to FINALLY use India super combat workers) and move a longbow in to check it out. Again, if a lot of pikes (or lots of other stuff) can just sit back as will have to wait for cats. If not move in the knights and next turn hope your luck is good. After you take offer SD peace for Pop Tarts.

Edit: make sure to cover the workers after!!! There are a few units coming up and 1 or 2 of the longbows depending what he has in there.

Other than that have lots of other worker notes and some for tile rearrangement although I tried to keep to a minimum.

If someone does move in this turn most of the single promo knight can go combat 1 but leave the 2 promo ones blank and maybe 2 of the others. Longbows all hill defense.

If unsure if it looks too many units or not it probably is.

And I finally ruined my streak of not having rolled a turn; although it wasn't entirely my fault. SOMEONE could have done this turn. SD has so little I think I'm leaving the scout alive as the spear that could have killed it moved south and if he kills it with a pike that means 1 less unit in the city.

SD got 4 pikes, 1 WE, and 1 spear in. I was on the fence to go or not to, but I could tell he probably had more coming and I'm betting the whip was a wall. Now if Nauf had TOLD me when he was going in so I could have cats ready and only 1 turn out instead of 2 and I probably would have waited, but as was decided to try.

Could have gone worse, but it certainly could have gone better. Lost a 67% and a 75% at the end. And you might think the withdraw on my double flanking knight makes up for the luck but I got 0 damage in that fight.

Decided to offer him peace for Candy Corn. I wanted 1 more, but that is a pretty big bloody nose for my army especially as I want to turn around and march towards Ginger.

Also, have I mentioned my GNP now looks very scary. Now sure some of that is sistine culture, but not all of it.........

4th offer from SD finally got there.

Didn't realize I was so close to a GG, but ah well. This way I don't have to worry for 10 turns. Also, let me immediately send a silver to Dreylin which he has been requesting about every turn.

Dreylin lost his banana which means I lost +2 health and two of my cities are in unhealthy. Offered Greenline increasing amounts for his sugar (up to 10gpt). There aren't a lot of options out there amongst the 4 people I'm friendly with. Plus he would likely cancel his 3gpt deal with Ginger.......... SIGH.

Oh and Ginger logged in 4 minutes after turn rolled. And then Ijub posted. Pro hint. If someone doesn't go your way don't post. See me losing religion race earlier. That being said this is the same Ginger I just took over his civ IN THE GAME HE STARTED because he couldn't be bothered to play scouting turns timely.

Mjmd war reporter here.

Based on the number of very injured longbows and SD not posting after I'm guessing this didn't go as well as he wanted it to. There are also some injured units in the city I was too lazy to stich together for you.

In other invasion news, I don't understand Ijubs. Now he did log in as I was logging off so maybe stuff will happen, but my notes say it all.

He invaded with a very large stack including a lot of guerilla 2 units that easily could have overwhelmed Ankaras ancient trash defenders. He also sent all his 2 movers towards it as well, which begs the question why promote all those units to guerilla 2 UNLESS you were going to send the 2 movers at Meleti? Now he didn't have a lot of knights, but Meleti had 2 defenders and maybe a 3rd could  have gotten in. Seems like a good use of trash to raze. Also, I'm wondering if Aetryn gave up ded lurking because I taught him way better than to keep a city touching enemy culture especially when your opponent has WAY more power than you.
