Well, my fault in any case, that's why I deleted the rant. If I played at my normal level, a bunch of Xbows and Axes would not be much of a problem at this date. I fucked up my opening and now I am at the mercy of a psychotic toddler - that's my punishment.
One more thing the lurkers might want to know - Superdeath destroyed my road going through a neutral territory in order to stop me from moving reinforcements to GT's front. I have fish-for-fish with this guy, a very fresh one. I had to declare a war on him and remove the offending chariot to keep my communications intact. Offered him back a white peace, don't expect him to accept. Also, got research visibility on mjmd, he is two turns from Guilds, so I think it's time for me to collapse anyway.

So it sounds as if I may be taking over this (dying?) civ soon per our deal. So uh, what do I need to know?

We are at seven cities with no tech. The country is in ruins after a brutal and unsuccessful war.
We have two neighbors: Mjmd and Superdeath. Mjmd is our friend. He treated us with honor and respect throughout the entire game, well more than we deserved. Please, repay him in kind to the best of your ability. Also, try to ask him for aid if he has anything you need, for some reason he wants to keep us alive. Superdeath is our enemy. He betrayed us, took our cities and was instrumental in our demise. Sabotage him in any way you can, be brutal and ruthless if you have a chance.
My plan was to try to tech to Guilds while we are at peace so that I have a unit that can meaningfully challenge Superdeath. You can follow this idea or invent a new one. Our notable assets is that we are Spiritual, so I have the luxury to run Serfdom right now, and also we have a shrine with a modest but stable income and two cities that can produce triple-promoted mounted units with Vassalage / Theo by virtue of settled Great Generals. I think there is one more great general in reserve.
That's all, I think, I'll be available to answer any questions. I will not be spoiling myself for some time.
The password is "Asoka". Feel free to log in and play the next turn if you are ready.

Oh, to be clear - we have a standing (and very recent) Crab for Crab with Mjmd. Please, respect that.

I knew this map was brutal, and I knew your tech situation was rough, but nothing could prepare me for logging in to see T178 with no Metal Casting or Calendar.
Everything else you said makes sense and sounds good. It is a nice shrine at least. I shudder to think where the tech would be without it. Any strong feelings on the reserve GG usage? Were you intending to save him for however he is most useful when war inevitably kicks off again?

I've been preparing to die for an extended period of time and used my commerce on silliness like archer to longbow upgrades and spying on Superdeath. But now, as Mjmd does not want to kill us for some reason, we might live for some time and I figured we can take the next level of tech. Triple-promo Knights, if we can get them, will carry us until death, I think.
Great General - yeah, emergency XP if a war happens.

Today in The Mysteries of Superdeath.
Gavagai's instructions to me boiled down to Superdeath Blood Enemy, Mjmd Friend. So ok. However, SD backed off when I took over, so I just ignored him and kept dumping EPs into him. All was quiet, so I quickly got defensive techs. Guilds and Engineering primarily for Knights + movement. Then he declared. His army is massive, so I sort of suspected this was going to be ugly for me.
Weird, but OK. Rather easily killed all of this despite some horrendous RNG. However, his scout that kamikaze'd in seems to have convinced him my entire army is up here.
So instead he sent this half-hearted stack at me? Uh, why? More importantly he left a bunch of units in Chocolate milk. He actually asked for Alexandria for peace. I countered with Chocolate milk for peace. I piled more bodies into the city than he can kill with his Knights, including 9-10 Formation Elephants that should hold up decently. He definitely can kill some units. I would be delighted if he tried.
I guess I don't know why this is all he sent. He has cannons and sent 0 of them. This seems like he really did all this for one city and not for a proper conquest. But this assumes I'm simply going to give him peace after, which lol. I tried to coax Naufragar into thet war via diplo. If he believes I'll stay in, he might just go for it.

Gav, I thought you said Mjmd was a friend.
To be fair, me of all people should have advised you that trusting him was pointless.
Ironically, the war with SD stalemated. I was able to take a chunk from his stacks, but he pulled back and had way too much for me to advance. So I re-offered him white peace as I wanted to play shorter turns and nobody could advance. This turned out to be hilarious timing, as Mjmd did this 10 minutes before SD logged in to accept my peace offer. I'm guessing SD would not have accepted peace if he had known (?), and Mjmd may have been banking on SD taking the brunt. Instead I do have a healthy stack of Cats/Knights. I can't win this of course, but I do think I can do some damage? We shall see.

Well, to be fair I am shocked he did not do it much earlier. More generally, shocked we survived that long somehow.
