caravels are not that useful against galeons, so real counter play needs at least 4 techs for everybody.

I think, it could be better for scooter to built macemen and catapults and start burning down cities.

Current state of the game:

Scooter: unlocks frigates next turn, no one else has galleons yet
Yuris, the clear #2 power, plans to ally with scooter to attack superdeath, the #3 power
Bing: unaware that scooter has galleons, apparently not noticing the settling of the Astronomy islands or checking the tech screen
Cairo: has not posted in the forum since July

The main question at this point is how many cities will burn until we get concessions from the other players.

I think Scooter flirting with attacking Bing was nonsensical tbh. Bing has focused a lot on defence for a while, and has another rival tied down. He's not competition, and attacking him (or Yuris) just risks adding another enemy for minimal gain. Cairo is pretty clearly the right call.

The sd 100gpt for fish / iron seems too much like gold gifting to me and I don't think should be allowed.

It would probably be easier to force a repayment plan than rewind anything, after all lending gold seems to be generally acceptable.

The weird thing is that it is in SD's interests for Yuri to field frigates ASAP given it's a hot war on both sides against a common enemy. I don't think this could be seen as kingmaking or a throw either.

To me this is fairly simple gold gifting is banned. There is nothing being paid for. If sd wants to do an interest free loan fine, but this is straight gifting in my mind.

If anyone cares about my opinion, I don't think gold gifting should be allowed and my understanding is that this has been the standard RB policy for a long time now. You can make the argument that it's in superdeath's interest to help Yuris tech faster - but you could make the same case any time that multiple players are coordinating against the leading player. This kind of gold gifting grants the receiving player an unfair advantage, gifting them an economy that they didn't build themselves to artificially catch up. I think this makes a mockery of the idea of fair competition; if the only way for the other players to catch scooter is to pull these shenanigans, the game should simply be called so everyone can start a new one.
