Don't I want to increase Critical Strike because that is the key stat for upping the damage of the spinning attack?
The highest rated builds I saw in some guides were maxing the crit strikes out first.

As much as that 5v5 wasn't great, that 3v3 was frigging awesome.
Also, can someone name the good attacking champs again? I seem to have a knack of playing the tank champs as DPS like a proper n00b.

I played poorly with poor PhoenixCull last night. Mechanically, I am improving by leaps and bounds, but I really don't know how the strategy of this genre of game works. I've been so focused on just being able to manage the mechanics of real-time mouse and keyboard gaming that the overall strategy of playing LoL hasn't really been a concern of mine. While I am by no means good at all, I think I understand the mechanics of Garen fairly well now. Now I need to start focusing on strategy. This game from last night was far and away the best I've had so far:
I used Speaker's suggested build in my game earlier tonight, but I was having so little problem with the guys on the other team in that game I decided to trade out one of the Sunfire Capes for the Ghostblade. Thanks for the suggested builds.

That seems to me to be one of the fundamental differences between good players and noobs - good players tend to focus more on getting last hits and gold, even when they're not necessarily in 'farming' mode.

Yeah, that was why I died so much. That stopped after I got Randuins' though, which I stupidly got as the second to last item I was going to build.

Yeah, those practice games we had last night were pretty fun mostly because both times, everyone on my team chose champs they'd never or hardly ever played before which is always interesting.
And I may be a bit late, but Speaker is right about Garen. You build him as a tank as his abilities do enough damage on their own to completely disrupt the enemy team while making it very difficult for them to kill you. That's why most people hate seeing Garen in games; he's just such a powerhouse and is very easy to get the hang of.
