My feeling is that Ashe will become relatively stronger in the spectrum of ranged carries (although probably slightly weaker overall), due to the fact that none of the changes that I've seen have nerfed crit chance, which is what Ashe relies on. This is simply because it's the thing most worth maxing out, due to the ridiculous synergy between IE and her passive (although IE generally has been slightly nerfed). The change to Phantom Dancer (-500 gold, removal of dodge chance) is a BIG buff to Ashe, simply because she's not very interested in the dodge chance, especially when compared to someone like Yi.
She will need a rethink due to the change to Last Whisper. Perhaps the answer is two Phantom Dancers instead...

No way you are getting 3x Doran's Blade, Infinity Edge, and 2x Phantom Dancer in a realistic game. Part of the greatness of Last Whisper is that it added both Attack Speed and Armor Pen, *and* only cost 1950.
Ashe is less of a hard carry, and more of a utility/carry, like Morgana was a utility/mage (before she got the Ezreal treatment). I think they are trying to nerf the hard carries (see: Twitch).
Interesting times, indeed.

With 2 Phantom dancers and 2 IE I've gotten over 800 damage with Sivir before. Add in the armour pen runes and you're golden. The question is, can you get 14k gold fast enough? I can do it as Sivir in Solo Queue a fair amount of the time, but it means I can't get Warmogs most of the time so I'm a glass cannon.
Very interesting indeed, and I don;t think it is a bad thing. Maybe going more towards a kiting strat now? That's a nerf to Sivir (yeah I'm single minded...)

Quote:Sight Ward
Health reduced to 1 and armor reduced to 0
Reduced collision and spellhit sizes
Duration reduced to 3 minutes from 4.5
The problem I have with that is not the HP, but the duration until the ward expires. In low level normal solo queue I hardly see anybody besides me buy any wards.
Now I am pretty sure I will stop buying them as well, because you fall behind the rest of the players in gold if you are the only one buying them to keep at least the river warded.
Now granted, I don't know if top level players felt wards were too cheap/powerful but for the majority of players it does not make a lot of sense to nerf the wards.
Then again, if they balance the game around the top players, does anybody understand the nerfs to Mordekaiser ?

So buying lots of wards will give you an edge that your team doesn't have, and will push you out of low level normal solo queue.

I haven't seen any complaints about wards from anyone, so I don't really know where this came from.

So can someone wearing a single sunfire cape destroy wards they can't see just by running past them?
Oh and stop buying warmogs krill!

Oh and stop buying warmogs krill! No, you can only kill them with autoattacks. Used to be that skills that did physical damage (Garen's spin or Ezreal's Q for instance) could kill them without revealing them, but they changed that a while back.

I'm pretty sure they nerfed Dragon only because they want to make jungling optional rather than mandatory for competitive games (hence the nerf to solo lanes). Having a jungler on your team to issue dragon control is supposedly less of a deal now. As someone who sort of specialize in jungling I don't really mind what they do so long as they don't mess too much with the basic jungle creeps.
Why is the change to Last Whisper such a big deal? Does attack speed have better synergy with IE?

It's just that you want both high damage and high speed on ranged carries. Now having IE and Last Whisper goes overkill on the damage without giving you any speed.
Edit: another big change for Ashe is the green pot nerf. I really liked having that extra AS and crit chance

I like the direction the changes are going overall, they seem designed to favour more early game ganking and small scale fights between the Flash nerf, ward nerf and the annoyingly hard to kill champs such as Mordekaiser and the Locket abusers being nerfed too.
